Guess we know what Karkatcestor was up to.

Look, you can't make me speak in a logical, coherent, intelligent bananna.oh
my god
so fucking excited
and it's all so TRAGIC. This is the literature Vriska grew up with; both she and Mindfang overestimated Tavros and OMIGOD SUMMONER HE PLAYS FIDUSPAWN THIS SMILE IS HURTING MY FACE but Vriska wanted to help Tavros ascend to the level that Mindfang's Summoner was supposed to be, but they got it ALL WRONG. Did Vriska think that if she provoked Tavros enough he'd get those FABULOUS WINGS? I need to see this happen. I predict fanfiction in the very short future. and and and omigod karkancestor i didn't even notice the 69 till you guys pointed it out HE WAS THE LEADER OF A REBELLIOUS FACTION?? oh my heart. Guess the lobster man wasn't Karkancestor after all, and I'm kind of glad of that because this leaves room for PIRATE KARKAT <3 leading the lowbloods on a futile mission for hemo equality. At least I think that's what happened. It's hard to decipher this Indigo Interaction.
We saw the rest of the pesterlog a few days ago, if I remember right. (ETA: here
.) Don't have any hard data or even well-grounded speculation on the glitching, but my intuition says something Scratch-related.

I will keep my soul in a place out of sight, Far off, where the pulse of it is not heard. So, Karkat hid his red blood, but he wore an icon on his shirt that could get him executed for treason?
Actually, if Alternia has modernized much, his shirt is probably the troll equivalent of wearing a pentagram or inverted cross; offensive, but mostly annoying.
They assed first. I am only retaliating in an ass way. -The Dead Man's LifeThe parallels are going deeper than I thought. Vriska's been using Mindfang's journal in pretty much the same way that Mindfang used her cue ball, hasn't she? And she's suffered in pretty much the same way for it.
I wonder if she'll learn from her ancestor's mistakes. Now would certainly be a good time to.
I will keep my soul in a place out of sight, Far off, where the pulse of it is not heard.Who's there anymore to execute people for wearing the Cancer sign?
And this finally explains what I'd been wondering: how Karkat could remain anonymous when he wore a sign. Well, by wearing a sign that'd been basically wiped from use for quite some time, of course. Very tidy.
I have a message from another time...We are seeing Rose's screen. How do I know this?
So now we also know where Rose is getting all her power from. And is it just me, or
does the journal look a bit like the book Rose had...
Mind=blown with all the permutations of that connection if true.
You know, it occurs to me that Vriska pretty much ruined her life, and a few others besides, by trying to be Mindfang.
She pursued a rivalry with Eridan that went nowhere and just made him long for more. (possibly leading to his rivalry obsession and murderous outbreak later on? I dunno)
She tried to use Equius much the way that Mindfang used his mechanist ancestor, but attempting to have him as a true ally was wasted on such a... fundamentalist Troll.
She imagined that she could have as great a rival in Terezi as Mindfang had in Redglare, but that all ended in tragedy. Several times.
She tried to groom Tavros into the second coming of the Summoner, but all she did was break him.
Mindfang was right to warn readers about the journal. About how it could bind people as badly as viewing the cueball had bound her. Though, in hindsight, she probably should've put that on page 1, as an addendum.
edit:
No. That is in reference to Feferi. The Witch of Life. The Troll that the queen's lusus (who is a Horrorterror, remember) turned her attention to, upon her Wriggling.

I have a message from another time...It's been like an HOUR.
Some people are really dedicated.
Wait, was Tavcestor Rufio, or Pupa Pan himself?
Anyways, he was badass. No wonder Vriska had high expectations of Tavros himself.
Also, Trolls are confirmed to have a longer lifespan than humans. Of course, there's a chance that not any Troll ever died of old age, ever, given their lifestyles.

I think Tavcestor is Peter Pan and Tavros was trying to be Rufio. Only he sucked too much.
Reviewing a few pages of thread, I like the comment that they're continuing rather than replaying the past, especially since I think it was made BEFORE the thing about Tavcestor. And it totally fits that. Vriska tried to make Tavros be to her everything the Summoner was supposed to be to Mindfang, which is what broke Tavros. So she got fed up with him and eventually just metaphorically knocked over the chessboard.
I think Aradiacestor, Solluxcestor and Nepetacestor are the only ones left to be seen. I seriously doubt the latter gets more than a cameo appearance, but the first one should be pretty important I think. But how?
