Hmmm. Maybe we're seeing a metamorphic counterpart to the Mothergrub?
What happens to males who ascend beyond a super saiyan and than go even further beyond meet the right conditions, perhaps.
Although the red might just be the lighting, or the blood from all the mutants he likes to wear as a hat.

I like the theory that that's Karkat's ancestor, just because that would be sweet. The evidence is sorta flimsy though. But this is Homestuck, master of the incredibly vague foreshadowing using very minor details.
Look, you can't make me speak in a logical, coherent, intelligent bananna.I don't know if I'm the last horse crossing the finish line or what, but I think I just realized something.
History isn't repeating itself. It's continuing from where it left off.
The trolls aren't merely reiterating the past described in Marquise Mindfang's journal, they're carrying on the conflict. Didn't we theorize that Kanaya's ancestor was Marquise Mindfang's slave girl? If so, that's two murders worth of karma coming down on Eridan's ass when she chainsawed him.
On a more complicated note, Marquise Mindfang admitted she wished she hadn't had to kill Redglare because she thought she'd make a good rival. Appropriately enough, their descendants ended up partners in crime and then rivals.
And of course, we have Gamzee, the Subjuggulator, the capricious overlord, effectively ruling the trolls through fear even now. And we know for a fact that none of them manage to stop him before then Critical Moment. The terrifying thing to consider, given how he's manipulated Terezi, is that the reason he hasn't killed anyone else lately might not be because Kanaya kicked his ass, but rather because he's running an even bigger game. That's one thing that's never been ascribed to the Subjuggulators...
Holy crab! :O Also, boohoo redglare sobbusobbu. In a nonsarcastic way, though. Also, that's really terrifying now that I think about it.
Also, I beseech thee! I need some Equius<>Nepeta pics for a blag I'm runnning-ish. Also, I'm trying to figure out which songs exactly are mashed into Descend. So far, I've got Upward Movement, Sburban Jungle, Beatdown, Black, Atomyk Ebonpyre, and Sepulchritude, but I'm pretty sure I'm missing a few. Could you help me out? It's for a class.
Yeah, Hussie explained that while Troll blood is different colors, their eyes, unless they're crying, are the same colors in each individual.
Humans are the reverse situation, with different eyes but blood who's difference is only on the chemical level.
I still argue that the Alternians have a fluid based nervous system, like the Krogan, and that their psychic powers are manifestations of different compositions.
Some fanfiction writers argue that psychic abilities are more common amongst lower bloods, as shown by Sollux and Aradia having no need for strifespecibi, Tavros barely needing his, and that Vriska's possession of both manipul8ion and blue blood is an anomaloy.
I would argue that either lower ranks are more prone to mutations, such as Karkat, or that there are simply more of them. One does not make a ruling class out of those displaying the most common phenotypes, so it stands to reason that proportionally the aristocracy may have fewer psychics over all, but proportionally they're the same.
Either way it means that 1/4 of Trolls, since we seem to have been presented with a good cross section of their species and culture, will possess some sort of psychic ability.

And Karkat's aspiration was to be a Threshecutioner.
This guy does seem like he'd be good at Threshecutioning.
