Toonami.
October 6th.
Sym-Bionic Titan is running for a new audience.
Fingers crossed that it might finally find its place with a proper schedule, and maybe with enough of a fanbase that doesn't rely on toyline releases, it could manage to get a proper release on DVD, or maybe even another season. At the very least, it's wonderful that it's in the hand of people who honestly care about the show. Here're some quotes from Jason De Marco's Twitter to prove my point. (He's the VP of strategic marketing and promotions for Adult Swim)
"We've wanted those shows since the beginning. I think Sym-Bionic is Genndy's best work. Just took a little paperwork etc"
&
"For anyone thinking Sym-bionic is not "mature enough," watch this scene: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Nq12k4xM7I
… This is advanced storytelling. Genius."
I couldn't be happier right now.

That block also attracts Toonami fans who really want anime to succeed on basic cable television in the US, and watch it either for the nostalgia or hope that the ratings will be enough to convince them to pick up newer shows in that time slot. Unfortunately, when we were little, our parents told us that we should SLEEP on a Saturday night! Humans usually DO that.
Would be cool to see this show get brought back, if only to test the waters for a serious Western Animaton show made for older audiences. When it comes to Western Animation, the only types released for older people are always Animated sitcoms in the vein of The Simpsons or Family Guy. This could create a new market that CN could invest in.
Even Adult Swim would've been a tough sell since they were still going through their Dork Age when the show premiered. All the action shows have been relegated to Saturday nights, so it would've need to gain a quick following for cartoon network to continue funding it.
Genndy left another message on the AMA over on Reddit the other day that says, "I just found out that Adult Swim is gonna start airing it, I think on Oct-6. This is great because Adult Swim has been responsible for bringing back other cancelled shows so there’s hope!"
I think that's the best possible indication that we can get from the man in charge that if the showings on Toonami go well, that it might actually have a real chance at continuing. I really do hope that it gets a proper DVD release, or some other official merch of some kind that'll be able to help fans show support for the show.
Regardless, I can't wait to see it air again tomorrow.

Maybe the problem will be that it was targeted at the wrong demographic. Most of Adult Swim's shows do not rely on merchandise to become successful.
I am going to write Octo/Meat Slash Fiction. They're so cute together!
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.Who cares? This show is beautiful! Lance is a total Hunk, and he pulls The Comically Serious with gusto. Ilana is literally the sort of girl that I want to marry some day, freckles and all. Octo is adorable.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.Roll it baby booty shake it...
What the fuck am I watching...
Most interestingly, I just feel embarrassed for the girl.
... I did that with a hamburger once... with exactly the results you'd expect...
Excellent metal concert...
I never thought I'd see She Is Not My Girlfriend executed that way... brilliant!
Octo is such a Chick Magnet, Even the Guys Want Him. He probably gets hit on more than hyper-cool Lance because he seems more approachable.
OMG we almost had a Glamour Failure then and there...
And then the Singin In The Rain of debris...
And then Ilana and Lance's reactions...
Obvious Alucard playing prisoner is obvious. Simple plan, but not a bad one, given who he's dealing with.
Octo's stroll in the wilderness with the Chirping Crickets and the billowing clouds reminds me a lot of Episode 2 of Evangelion, a.k.a. "Shinji's Stroll"...
Is that Lance's dad?
And now Lance has a female counterpart! Awwwww...
"Did you want my phone number? It might make it easier to find me."
... The Swamp episode... like so many horror stories, it required an Idiot Ball, but damn is it eerie...
LOL ILANA!

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.Hi! Been watching SBT since Toonami first started airing it, and I absolutely love everything about it, from the characters, their designs, developments, personalities and voices, the story arcs, the mature tone of the world, the great balance between tense and exciting action, emotionally gripping (and realistic) drama, horrifyingly scary and genuinely touching moments, and the general look of the art style. I've also been managing to fit this series in with a mini-psych paper that I've started to work on (relate your favorite show to the current subject matter that's being covered in class, which is the different types of conditioning: operant, classical, and observational, the different biological, cultural, and cognitive barriers in learning, as well as the different types of cognitive learning), and narrow it down to a specific episode that would best demonstrate everything that I've just covered. Any tropers out there that are Psych students/ majors and are also fans of Titan, can you please lend a hand?
Also, get permission to stream it legally on Netflix, You Tube, Hulu, or one of the billions upon billions of video streaming sites available on the interwebs. That should help boost Cartoon Network's confidence.
Also, do DVR'd shows help boost the ratings when they're viewed at a later date?
