"Heart, mind, and body", that's all that needs to be said, really.
I don't mind the friendship stuff, I'm probably going to ignore it in favor of the fights.
But all the best mecha are powered by BURNING AMERICAN LOYAL FREINDSHIP!
And there was a Mecha Episode of Samurai Jack? LINKS PLEASE!

...Did that guy just crush a man's throat with his bare hand?
edit: And did they just mix things up by having something other than the giant combined super-robot finish off the Monster of the Week? In episode 2?

I have a message from another time...^^ Very Darth Vader, isn't it?
Anyway, who is the gorilla villain dude voiced by? Sounds sort of like Mark Hamill.
Man I can't see the titan transformation sequence, or the shots inside it, without thinking 'Bio-Merge'.
I have a message from another time...Personally, I was picking up a Michael Mc Connohie vibe from him.
Modula's voice really sounds like Varimathras to me, for some reason. Anyone know if they're voiced by the same guy?

Modula is officially awesome. Holy cow.
I'm a little more concerned about the brief action, but this episode still involved itself in set-up stuff, so that may change in the future.
I hope they do more with the collateral damage, but it actually stuck around. That gives me a lot of respect for the show. As does them having Modula crush a man's windpipe. Not to mention neighbour lady's constantly suggestive dialogue.
I'm just impressed that they had Lance's mech on its own finish off the threat instead of going with "the giant robot form saves the day every time" Power Rangers-style formula.
I have a message from another time...Apparently, someone founf that the Titan fusion reminded them of the FINAL FUSION!

Watch Symphogear^^ It's little things like that add a lot to it, likewise with how the destruction from the giant robot fight didn't get a reset button, and of course the fact that the villain very clearly throttled someone to death in front of us, with nothing but a discretion shot.
So far, it's achieved a strangely original feeling, despite the fact that it's essentially built out of cliches. This one has definately caught my attention. Looking forward to more.

Not Quite Batman
Man, I am in love with this cartoon. I added it to my favorites list on my profile.
I like the Slice of Life segments much more than the robot-on-robot carnage, though.
"Religion isn't the cause of wars, it's the excuse." —Mycroft Next^ I don't know about liking them more (it's about equal to me), but it's very refreshing to see a show of this genre that keeps the everyday life segments very engaging.
^^^ It's amazing how the homage to sentai and mecha anime went as far as simulating the music, haha. Never mind, I see what they did there. |D

The music is (apparently) from Gao Gai Gar, edited into the video by the uploader.
Aaaand, lacking a sense of individuality, I went and did this:

I'm turned off by the character-designs and the power-of-friendship key.
