I Am the Highway by Audioslave. And the '78 Lupin theme is pretty fuckin' rad.
Yeah, I don't often listen to loud/exuberant music.

A True Lady's Quest - A Jojo is You!For "epic", I usually think of movie soundtracks
- Luis Bacalov (Kill Bill), "Battle Without Honor Or Humanity" and "The Grand Duel (Parte Prima)"
- Ennio Morricone (Once Upon A Time In The West), "Death Rattle/Man With A Harmonica"... (I think the second song above was actually an homage to this ST)
- Chopin (The Pianist), "Ballade in G minor"
- Nino Rota (The Godfather), "Speak Softly Love" and the main theme
- Metal Gear Solid's theme song, I don't know the name
Also pulls double duty as my favourite song ever. But it is extremely epic.
Again with the data mining, dear Aunt?King Crimson - "In The Court Of The Crimson King"
The Sisters Of Mercy - "This Corrosion"
Ennio Morricone - "The Ecstasy Of Gold"
The first two are epic by just about any definition. The second two may or may not qualify, but who cares? They kick ass.
Oh we don't have to be strict, either a long saga song or something of a Crowning Music Of Awesome or both. I was just listening to "A Quick One While He's Away" and thinking of other awesome long songs that tell a story.
Emperor Wu liked cake, but not exploding cake!Epic songs that tell a story, eh? The opening song from The Protomen - Hope Rides Alone
is highly epic. Especially about 30 seconds in when the guitars suddenly kick in.
EDIT: Oh, BTW as bad as it gets by the end of the song, It Gets Worse. What I love about The Protomen is just how much of a World Half Empty Deconstruction it is.

Again with the data mining, dear Aunt?If telling a story is important to epicness, then "Frankie Teardrop" definately qualfies.
Hmm, I'm listening to Morrissey's "Late Night, Maudlin Street
", and I suppose it partially counts by these standards. It's not very loud or dramatic musically, but it's long (about 8 minutes) and it tells a story, So Yeah.
Also, how could I forget "This Is Hardcore
" by Pulp? (Well, I think it's pretty epic, in its own way.)
