This video shows why I been wanting for a while a Pokemon with an ability that sets up Trick Room as an equivalent to Drizzle or Drought. Just imagine the chaos it would cause.
Also, sidenote, seeing that FSG showed that its subscribers are 93% guys, made me realize how few girls seem to be present in the competitive Pokemon sphere. Which seems really weird, at least to me, since Pokemon is one francise I consider pretty balanced, and I even remember reading that close to 70% of Pokemon GO players are women.
It seems to be the case for a lot of gaming and associated channels that the majority of the viewer base is male.
The sad, REAL American dichotomy
I wasn't just referring to their viewers (thought that also is right). It's just that seeing that divide made me realize how few female names pop-up while talking about VGC, since I don't even remember if one was uttered during the Landorus movie.
Edit: Makes me wonder what is the actual ratio of participants in any given tournement.

Am I the only one annoyed that certain Pokemon can only evolve if its a regional variant and the original is left to try? Like good that Farfetch'd has something, but you're screwing the original one over. I'm glad Gen 9 gave us actual, traditional cross-gen evolutions for the first time since...literally Gen 4 ("s" is important since the only other exception was Sylveon)
Some promotional material (like the official Pokemon website
) state that Farigiraf is a special evolution for Girafarig "living in the Paldea Region", implying you can only evolve Girafarig there. But that might be wrong, since Girafarig only needs a new special move to evolve note . I really hope that if Girafarig appears in future games, you can still evolve it.
And you're right; it is nice to get regular cross-gen evolutions again after so long.

Left to "dry" (as in "high and dry"), by the way.
But yes, it bothers me, too. Pokemon where only a regional form gets something actually leave me about as underwhelmed as Megas did, because it's not really fixing the original line. And then there's the Kanto bias again. Regional forms aren't necessarily bad, but I think I'd prefer new lines, and cross gen evolutions.

The sad, REAL American dichotomyI've heard a lot of people complain about how Houndstone is a pure Ghost type instead of dual Rock-Ghost. And admittedly, I'm mixed about it.
On one hand, Houndstone does its grave-shaped head ornament, and both its Japanese note and English names refer to gravestones (with the English one even keeping the "stone" part). Not to mention, players really want a Rock/Ghost-type, and we still didn't get one even after nine generations. There were even previous Ghost-types that look like Rock-types but somehow weren't (Golurk and Runerigus in particular had to be specified as being made of clay to justify their Ground typing).
But on the other hand, it doesn't really look like a Rock-type. Other than its head ornament, it doesn't really have much to justify getting Rock. I accept Houndstone not being Rock for the same reason I do not accept Lucario being Steelnote . Not to mention, Houndstone from what I hear is a really High-Tier Scrappy; giving it a type that boosts it not-too-shabby Special Defense in Sandstorm, on top of its nice Attack and Sand Rush boosting its speed, seems like a nightmare.

I think it's something to do with how dogs like digging holes.

Didn't stop the fossils from being part Rock. Also, if something doesn't have a speed advantage, being part Rock opens them up to damage from Water and Grass.
It's kinda funny that both Ghost/Dark Pokemon may have an even better justification for being Ghost/Rock.
The sad, REAL American dichotomy

Rhyhorn is just a rhino and Rhydon is a less interesting version of the Nidos. At least Rhyperior has something going on in comparison.
The legend has returned.
