XY's release is halfway between the present day and the Japanese release of DP.
...
And the European release of BW is halfway between the present day and the European release of GS. While B 2 W 2 is halfway between the present and FRLG. And HGSS is halfway between the present and the release of RB.
FUUUCK, I'm old.
Is it said anywhere in-game that status effects affect stats? Like Paralysis halves Speed?
Or is that another Guide Dang It!?

Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576I think it might be said in the Pokemon School buildings no one goes to.
The Protomen enhanced my life.Anyone else got a Pokemon line that contains one of your favorite Pokemon, but the one you like the most isn't the final form? For me, there's:
- Graveler (my only random shiny)
- Scyther (my favorite Pokemon)
- Dewott (my favorite stage of any starter)
...I just realized I pronounce Smogon wrong in my head all the time. It's likely "Smog-on", given it's named for the Weezing line's Japanese name relating to "smog", but I still hear it as "Smo-gon".
The sad, REAL American dichotomy
Aww
Uhh I'm not sure TBH. Majority of my favorites are fully evolved.
It's not a favorite but I prefer chespin over its evos by far. Oh here's one, Helioptile over Heliolisk. Ah and Mareanie over Toxapex though I still like Toxapex. Mareanie is cuter and has more charm though.

In terms of design, I prefer:
- Poliwhirl over Poliwrath
- Haunter over Gengar
- Dragonair over Dragonite
- Quilava over Typhlosion
- Grovyle over Sceptile
- Metang over Metagross
- Rhydon over Rhyperior
- Axew and Fraxure over Haxorus
- Pumpkaboo over Gourgeist
There's probably a bunch more, but these are the main ones that come to mind.
Half of those were on my list of "I definitely prefer the middle stage, but it's not a top favorite". Especially Haunter. Maybe it's the Indigo League episode getting to me, but something about Haunter just feels like a winning design.

I'd like to see an Unown form that's basically the Demon Tide from Kingdom Hearts. Get Yoko Shimomura to compose a leitmotif for them as well, while I'm dreaming of things I'd like to see.
