I tend to find Shinies when farming for weird stuff. My first Shiny ever was a Ducklett in Black, found farming those feathers that gave you a boost in stats (I was a dumb kid at the time, unaware that there were better ways to build EVs past what the supplements give you). After that, in X, I found a Shiny Jigglypuff farming for Dittos with the right Nature and IV spread. A month later, I found ANOTHER Shiny Jigglypuff in the same area doing THE SAME THING.
I never encountered a shiny until a Tentacool during Y version. Then I caught a shiny Pupitar no less than a day later.
Since then I've obtained quite a few from breeding or wild encounters. My prized possession is a shiny Minior I bred.
Accidentally killed a shiny Chansey once while SOS chaining them, but meh. I already had gotten one previously.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I think my favorite Shiny that I actually have (and isn't one of the event Shinies) is a Modest Shiny Lunatone I found in a rental version of Pokemon Y. It's not a huge difference, but the blue eyes really sell the "once in a blue moon" reference as something beautiful, and the Nature being good is just the cherry on top.
I'll never forget my shiny Popplio from Sun. Was SRing for a Modest (didn't care about the gender), but after about 20 tries and many repeated cutscenes, I settled for a Timid one that had appeared. Then I noticed that the Popplio looked a bit "purplish"... Checked the Summary and there was the star.
And this is how the story of Conchita, the Primarina, began.

... And that's called jazz!It really depends on your opponent. If they favor Psychic types, lead with Salazzle, but switch Delphox into that slot if they use Ghost- or Dark-types, for example.
My musician pageI've stalled a bit on facing Mallow's trial in Ultra Moon because I recently unlocked Poke Pelago. I've managed to unlock all tiers of Isle Evelup, so now my main Pokemon are in there training EVs.
I'm hoping my Brionne's Icy Wind will be enough against the Totem Pokemon, but I'm going to level up my Salandit and try to evolve a Magby, just in case.
"I squirm, I struggle, ergo I am. Faced with death, I am finally, truly alive."
The EV training will definitely help, even if it's not enough by itself. In fact, with that, one of your Fire-types might be able to one-shot the totem (possibly with some help from the sunlight).
To break the monotony of milking my Ultra Sun save file before I throw it, well, into the sun, I'm playing Diamond for a bit. Specifically, throwing a Quick Ball at every Abra I find until I get a Timid Synchronizer before I head out the wrong side of the Poketch Company door.
Three things I would love to see in a future main series game.
- 1: The ability to skip the catching tutorial. Veteran players are sick of having to be taught the same thing over and over.
- 2: A Fire/Ice-type Pokémon. Because Todoroki is one of my favorite characters in My Hero Academia. Rock-type moves are gonna hurt like hell, though.
- 3: Bring back the following-Pokémon mechanic from the gen 2 remakes and Let's Go. Especially the riding mechanic from the latter. So far, the trailers for Sword and Shield make it seem like they ditched the mechanic once again.

RIP KissAnime. We are getting back a skippable catching tutorial, at least.
Goddammit, Schezo... || *insert incredibly thirsty copypasta about Dr. Ratio*

I made an image with my entire shiny lineup
somewhat recently, cuz the topic came up in a Discord convo about shiny Pokemon, and I was just.. humblebragging that I have a lot.
If this doesn't tell you just how much I enjoying breeding, I don't know what will (maybe my Wonder Trade collection would, actually).
