Still am genuinely peeved about the Pokemon culling though. If they kept in the ~30 so cross-gen Pokemon I'd probably just sigh and get it instead of ignoring Pokemon for the first time in what feels like forever.

The most legit criticism I've seen of the game is the lack of PC storage. I get the protagonist in this title is basically a casual trainer instead of a registered research assistant (who really would need those 32 storage boxes for research and breeding) or a fully certified lifetime pro circuit trainer with a 3000 box bank account (because even 32 boxes is nowhere near enough for 7+ generations of pokemon) but they could have at least given these rookies a single storage box.
E Dit: Apparently the lack of boxes was a troll review. Disregard this, unless they short the casuals on storage capacity.

There is legit critism of these games. Not everyone is going around shouting that Pokemon is DOOMED,DOOMED over these games. Honestly I could care less at this point. I'm more anxious if Gen 8 is really going to be the veteran experience that Masuda claims it will be. Won't hold my breath though.

The only criticism I can think of at the moment is that the new move names are way too childish to take seriously. Otherwise, I don't really care about these games since I'm skipping out on them.

@Sterok:... okay, the Kanto nostalgia pandering is a concern, even if that part was just a joke. I will admit it, Generation 1 Pokemon is actually my least favorite. That's not to say that I don't any Generation 1 favorites, it's just that the simple design sometimes doesn't work. If anything, Game Freak should focus on Generation 2 more instead. I like a majority of the Generation 2 Pokemon, but boy, they're terrible for battling (coughlediancough).
@Alpha VII: I'm more worried about Generation 8 would be Gen 6 all over again. The competitive aspect of Gen 6 is fantastic, but boy, the main campaign is lackluster. The only thing I liked from the main campaign is the trainer customization. Heck, a lot of the non-competitive idea from Generation 6 got scrapped in later games.

Roselia sucked in its debut Gen, but Roserade became of the Pokemon that defined team building in Gen 4. It took Gen 6 to knock it down from OU.

Question: has there been any theorycrafting on what would happen if Pikachu and Eevee's new moves got a move tutor for them in future gens?
I would like to get a link/tldr of them.

I'd suspect that Eevee's moves would be evolution-based, i.e. each evolution (including Eevee itself) gets the exclusive move of the same type. (e.g. Umbreon gets Baddy Bad.)
As for Pikachu, the Water and Flying moves could carry over, but I'd suspect that Pika Papow would become the Z-Move for Zippy Zap.

The starter Pikachu and Eevee are untradeable, and thus aren't leaving Let's Go. Therefore, it is feasible for the moves to remain exclusive.

Well, Lorelei is the point in the game where bruteforcing your starter wouldn't let you through, so I guess they needed to solve that.

In the UK, Let's Go is the biggest opening on Switch thus far at retail. Sales are down from XY about 5%.
With digital Let's Go probably beat XY. Strong start.

Purely anecdotal, but my local GameStop had a ton of preorders of the games and some Poké Ball Pluses sitting out waiting to be picked up.
These games are going to do well and I hate it.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?
