Alright, confess odd things.

For example, I'm jealous to my big brother becuase he discovered The Smiths first. Dammit, now I can't have a crush for Morrisey without feeling weird about it.

It bears mentioning that 2D animation is still incredibly popular, considering the film scene. It just isn't popular in hollywood.

You can't tell the average person that you speak a foreign language without them asking you to say something in it. This is troublesome for me as a French major.

So I like to just totally lie about what the meaning of what I'm saying is.

"Oh, you speak French? Say something! grin"
"Ma bite va te détruire; tu ne pourras pas bouger demain."
"Oh, that's lovely! What'd you say?"
"Um... that you're as beautiful as a lily in the morning sunlight..." *

I want to move to America so I can do that.

Won't fool any Chinese speakers, though. And Chinese just isn't sexy.

Depends, blackmoon, if the person can understand other romance languages they might guess the destruire part. But I guess you said that to a monoglot?

Basically the only people who say "say something in French!" when you tell them you speak it are people who only speak English.

I've had people ask me to say things in turkish.

I only know very basic nouns. Most of them, food.

I don't like speaking french but I like hearing french songs. Non je ne regrette rien and les temps des fleurs are quite nice.

"Oh, you speak French? Say something!" "Ma bite va te détruire; tu ne pourras pas bouger demain." "Oh, that's lovely! What'd you say?" "Um... that you're as beautiful as a lily in the morning sunlight..." * The joke being that if I didn't fuck that up because of sleep deprivation, it actually means "My cock is gonna destroy you; you won't be able to move tomorrow."

My interest in French has been renewed. I'm also reminded of a fanfiction I read a while ago.

I frequently think about buying some Steam games, preordered, but then I realise that I don't get a hat out of it so I don't.

I've always loved the smell of scotch tape. I don't know why, but I do.

Also, those flailing-inflatable-tube-person-things scare the *hell* out of me.

Confession: I fucking love the passive voice. I know every writer or professor out there will talk about how horrible it is, but I maintain that sentence construction should not be restricted to specific formulae. I don't use only passive voice, obviously, but I like keeping the option open.

Active voice has its uses, but it often strikes me as blunt and rigid. Passive voice, on the other hand, has a certain poeticism to it, and often feels a lot more natural. Compare a club with a rapier, and you get a good idea of how I see this issue.

Obviously, both voices can be used well or poorly. I just object to the stigma that passive voice seems to hold.

Confession: I've seen Passive Voice thrice in English classes by now.

I still don't understand what the fuck does it mean.

Basically, it's like this:

Active Voice: A bear ate Bob.

Passive Voice: Bob was eaten by a bear.
