Alright, confess odd things.
Excessive complaining isn't allowed anywhere on the site. Keep it out of this thread.
For example, I'm jealous to my big brother becuase he discovered The Smiths first. Dammit, now I can't have a crush for Morrisey without feeling weird about it.

OC: The vast majority of my music collection is on either vinyl or cassette. I have a few albums in more esoteric formats, and also a good deal on MP 3's, but I deplore CD's for anything but skip effects.
I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....I confess that I prefer CDs. I dislike the relatively low quality of MP3s, I have to use my dad's player if I want to play vinyls and then I have to worry about them jumping and getting damaged, and tapes seem to deteriorate far too easily (although it's perfectly possible I'm not taking sufficient care of them).
Welcome To TV Tropes | How To Write An Example | Text Formatting Rules | List Of Shows That Need Summary | TV Tropes Forum | Know The StaffProbably, tapes do take a lot of care.
I prefer the warm crackle of vinyl, and the soothing hiss of cassettes.
CD's? Fuck those guys.
Another reason is, I enjoy collecting obscure, and even local and homemade recordings. I have the entire discography of Sky Serpent and am probably their only fan, the spoken word recordings of a guy named Daniel Arrit are also a favorite of mine.
I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....See, I dislike crackles and hisses. It even bugs me that when I have the volume low I can hear the CDs spinning. If I want to hear the track, I want it to be flawless.

I even have one recording on a steel track, which is a really fucking old method of recording. I can't play it though, I lack the necessary equipment.
Another thing, I'm involved in the local hip-hop scene, which aside from a few aspiring superstars, is all vinyl-only or cassette-only.
I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....My parents have a bunch of old cassette tapes that I sometimes listen to.
The Ice Castles soundtrack is like white noise for if you need to drown out people while you do homework. >_>

You're looking for this person.I record Deadliest Warrior, just so I can skip to the fight scenes at the end and ignore the rest.

Kill all math nerds@Spain: Nothing particularly interesting, and I don't listen to all of them. In the box in the pickup there's like, Metallica, ZZ Top, Heart, Guns N Roses, George Michael (oh God), The Cure, Rush, and Poison. I can tell somewhat which are my mom's and which are my dad's.
You're looking for this person.I have far too much knowledge of Eighties hair bands. By the list of music pages I think that's easy to tell. I don't have any particularly consistent taste with music. Or movies. Or anything.
You're looking for this person. It's true, if I recommend something more likely than not it's going to not be anything spectacular. I'm open-minded about any sort of media, but my taste is pretty bad. I like whatever I find entertaining, that's about it.

You're looking for this person.I tend to listen mainly to rock, but I like some music from most genres. I find it hard to describe my music tastes succinctly, so I usually just say I listen to whatever.
Welcome To TV Tropes | How To Write An Example | Text Formatting Rules | List Of Shows That Need Summary | TV Tropes Forum | Know The StaffI have to listen to everything, including Spoken Word and instrumentals. I love creating sound collages.
And as I said, I love collecting obscure recordings. I own a record in an all-white sleeve with no artist info that is merely a two-hour long flute solo. And I adore it.
I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....Lusta: I know who Flogging Molly are, they're an Irish (or is it Scottish?) band.
Don't try to out-obscure me.
There's an entire local scene built around vinyl and cassette releases, starting with 1986-founded rap group The Riot Mobb.

I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....Oh, I didn't say they were obscure. I know of a lot of people who like them, just not in person, and they're one of the more popular and successful Celtic Rock bands. It's just, most people IRL just go, "who?"
They're Irish, yes. Well, American. Only the lead singer, Dave King, is actually from our fair homeland.
