Though I am probally a tad younger than the rest of you I can say the original Ben10 was really good, it hadgreat Aliens and even greater Villans, the plot's were clever and unique with Max being unmatachably awesome.
While Alien Force did have some good story arc's and villans (The Dnaliens, the Highbreed, Albedo) Dwayne pretty much destroyed previous characters personality since (Ben became a generic Hero, Gwen lost her sass and became The Chick, Kevin became a Jerk Jock Anti-Hero with less creative power use, Vilgax became a Lawful Evil squid man with no deph) and while Ben, Gwen and Kevin's changes could have worked if they were shown onscreen the problem is they wern't they just happend.

The smartest idiot you will ever meet.I don't hate the latest version of Ben 10, but I don't like it either. It wouldn't be that bad if it was an all original show, but it isn't.
- The aliens seem a bit derivative, I liked the original set up where Ben couldn't really control the omnitrix and wanted to become one alien but turned into another. It played into the whole "not what you want, but what you need"-thing that contrasted with Ben's childlike reasoning.
- The villains aren't really engaging, we keep getting second stringers who are working for others. There seems to be someone higher up every time they manage to defeat someone.
- Why was Vilgax a giant head in an aquarium?
- Kevin is pretty much useless. He's not the same character as the original, but with his new powers, he's pretty much canon fodder. An extra body to use when it's convenient.
- Gwen isn't the same person she was in the original. From her personality to her powers, it's just not Gwen.
- Ben stopped being fun, now he's an arrogant little jerk, but nobody stands up to him proper. It used to be Gwen when she was still a badass normal, but these days, nobody really stands up to him. Seriously, Julie was pretty cool, but she got screwed over and nobody seemed to care about her.
- Too many tangents. I keep getting the impression that there are only loose ends in this new version. Nothing gets resolved, not really.

Honestly I don't think anyone would have minded Ben, Gwen and Kevin changeing into there Alien Force personalitys if it had actually happend on screen instead just over a timeskip.
I didn't mind the changes when I first watched season one of AF because I thought they where going to be explained fairly quickly but the only personality change explained was Kevin's and that didn't happen till "Ultimate Alien".
The smartest idiot you will ever meet.Meh. I didn't think much of Ben 10, but it was reasonably diverting and entertaining in its own right.
As said before in the thread, though, AF is very obviously intended to get the Teen Titan/Avatar: TLA crowd in there. Problem is, both of the shows it's attempting to mimic were absurdly awesome. It's... not really that awesome, and it manages to screw up a lot of the stuff from the original show that was fine, otherwise...
"Shit, our candidate is a psychopath. Better replace him with Newt Gingrich."with Max being unmatachably awesome.
True that!

Exactly. Especially with Kevin; if he was going to change that drastically, then a proper character arc was needed to get there, rather than the crap that was actually pulled (UA's Author's Saving Throw was ridiculously late.)
