Damien looked around at the voice and stumbled back a step. There was a girl out in the cold with them. There shouldn't have been anyone out there. He tried to speak once more, but even to his own ears it was incomprehensible.

When Eos caught a flash of movement through the window, she motioned for the two boys to be quiet. She was too far to do much with either of her guns, but that could be easily fixed. Slinging her shotgun over one shoulder with the safety on, she grabbed her rope and tied it around the leg of her bed very securely before rappelling out and stealing over, making sure to keep to the side of the sniper.

"Let's hope whatever you're doing here can be settled without that rifle," Eos informs him bluntly, holding her shotgun at the ready.

"Eos," Noriko says, "do you recall what I've said about your gun? I think I need it especially now." She looks out the windows at the darkness, where all the others' attentions are drawn to.

With her naked eyes it seems that the only penetration of the night is her imagination, but she can see glances of people outside.

Back in her environment-regulating suit I really need a better name for that... and set up on the hotel's inhospitable rooftop, Marissa cringed inwardly. Between Sassillo, Damien, the girl from the snow, and the woman with the shotgun, it was becoming a regular party down there. And Damien, of course, was being about as friendly and nonthreatening as a rabid dog.

Eos was upstairs and rappelled out of her second story window. She's outside now, and not horribly close to the lobby.

"Y'know, keep hauling me around like this and people may start to get the wrong idea."

"Do you want me to kill you Sassello?"

Sassello grinned, slumped over Violet's shoulder. Stumbling into the light, Sassello breathes easier.

I'm bleeding. Can't move. But hey, I'm being carried back to the hotel by a beautiful girl. It's been worse.

"Here's your stop." With a comedic thud, Violet shoves Sassello off of her, face-planting into the snow.

Maybe not.

The urge to get outside to the scene fills Noriko. But in her light summer dress, she is going to freeze before the tenth step. She is going to borrow some clothes (pretend it's a cold winter at Kyoto U).

She rummages through the lost and found pile by reception's desk, finding a black winter jacket. Putting it on, she finds it a tad larger than her tastes, but it's no matter, as she runs on outside into the field.

Her legs and feet are another matter entirely — they get numb as they trudge through the thick, knee-deep layers of snow. How reckless, how stupid has she become since?

It doesn't matter, there's no turning back now. She only goes forward to the figures out there.

Eos is so edgy from unexpected things happening when she's had about three hours of sleep that she barely manages to keep from pointing her gun at the next person who arrives. Upon seeing it's Noriko, the relief at not doing it is drowned out in complete and utter rage.

"Noriko, go back inside!"

Sassillo and the girl were just...walking away? Did Damien stab Sassillo? Is that why he's bleeding? Then that only left Miss Shotgun and her harmless card trick friend...Norika...Noro...something like that. Marissa drummed her gloved fingers pensively along the barrel of her gun. The bullets were poisoned I have done no research, but they're from a technologically advanced society, so roll with it so even a nonlethal shot would render a target unconscious, and the suit was supposed to be able to protect her from things like falling off buildings...well, perhaps not falling off buildings, but there was a good few feet of snow on the ground. She would probably be alright.

She took careful aim and fired, first at the woman with the shotgun, then at the girl with the cards. The figures seemed to fall into the snow. It was confirmation enough for Marissa. She swung herself over the edge of the building, lined herself up, and fell, barely slowing herself down with the woman's still-dangling rappel rope. The suit worked to some degree, though, and the snow did the rest. Damien had already started running—lurching, really, between the snow and exhaustion, towards the hotel.

They met up rounding the corner at the back of the building, on the opposite side from the lobby, and plowed in through the kitchen entrance. Through the kitchen and into the hallway, Marissa called both the elevators, slammed a gloved hand across all the buttons on one and joined Damien in the other.

"Okaaaaayyyyyyyy, so a zombie shows up in a hotel, everyone's outside for some reason, there's a shotgun noise, people went back inside and up an elevator?" Brooke said trying to figure everything out. "These people might just have as much drama as we usually do."

"So what do we do?" Jayde asked bewildered.

Honestly even PsychoFreaX is confused ^^'

Dae Brayk: Though I'm not averse to having my character get hurt, godmoding is annoying. Especially since your characters ran off without letting ours react at all.

Eos heard a shot—two shots—from the roof and felt a bullet embed itself in her arm. It burned far more than a regular gunshot wound should have, and she swore liberally as she caught sight of a figure using her own rope to get down the building. Caught between chasing the figure and getting her first aid kit, Eos decided on the latter and fired at the figure, then saw the man with the sniper rifle running to catch up with the other shooter and swore more.

She felt woozy, actually. Eos bit down more swearing as that would just be a waste of energy, then opened the hotel door. "Someone go into my room and get my first aid kit! Second floor, room 108! Also someone get Noriko out of the snow before she freezes—"

The room flickered in and out of sight. Eos grabbed at the doorknob to steady herself, missed, and only managed to keep her head from hitting the ground as she lost consciousness.

Noriko feels a loud crack, and something through her, and.. warm. It's warm. Then she notices the red stains on the white snow.

Oh.

Is that how it is?

She turns, and— the searing PAIN.

Overwhelming. Hurting. Her mind shuts down.

As she falls, she catches a second glimpse at her open torso and chest, ripped open from within and the muscle tissue dangling out all bloody and— (I want to scream, but I can't.)

Her face hits the snow.

Hey, Father. I wanted to say goodbye to you.. now you're going to say hello.. to me.

The breath rattles out, like a buzz saw. The blood overwhelms, surging up her throat and she chokes on it.

I think it was a pretty good life.. I had. I'm..

Soon she can't feel anything but numbness, only the feeling of falling down into a deep hole. Her eyes fill with butterflies, and her jaw locks open.

Don't cry, Noriko.

it hurts

Don't you cry. It'll be all right. Soon.

Her eyes fill with a storm of emotions. Then she releases a long strained breath and then becomes silent.

The one thing she would never feel afterward is her lonely tear on her cheek.

Sorry =( Pacing's tricky, I mean, balancing how much time the other characters should have and trying to keep things moving. I did, for the record, have my character go up the stairs several posts ago and established that she was there, so she didn't appear on the roof out of nowhere. I'll be more careful though. TBH, though, I didn't want this to turn into a battle or an argument. If it was a battle, my characters would get smeared, and if it was an argument, it would either turn into a battle or they'd settle their differences, leaving us with no conflict. Again.

"You idiots can stay there and think all you want!" Ian yelled as they heard a few more gunshots. Then went into the elevator towards the floor where the action is going on. "Someone could have gotten hurt up there"

"Ian wait!!!" Zoe called out. "We don't even know what's going on yet!!!"

"hmmpphhh reckless dumbass," Brooke remarked.

Will bear in mind for next time, promise. Psycho, even if there was something on the rooftop, your character probably wouldn't know about it. But there isn't. Current situation: Violet and Sassomething collapsed in the snow several posts ago, one of them stabbed (probably). Eos and Noriko were shot with poisoned bullets. The poison would have been nonlethal on its own, but it was attached to a bullet so it's iffy, and Noriko probably just died. Eos made it inside before passing out. The man who stabbed Sass and the woman who Shot Eos and Noriko are accomplices, and hiding out somewhere in the hotel now.

Marissa, suit folded over one arm and pulling Damien along with the other, exited the elevator on the third floor and glanced down each hallway.

"It's clear." She said quietly. "Come on. The hotel's nearly full, so we'll have to be careful." She approached the first door, shoved Damien out of view, and knocked. A polite, middle-aged man answered.

"I'm sorry," said Marissa, "but my room doesn't have any hangers in its closet. Do you have any you could spare?"

Seven rooms and fifteen hangers later, they found one that was unoccupied and smashed off the door handle. Marissa replaced it as best she could, but it wouldn't hold up to very close scrutiny.

Once inside, Damien collapsed on the bed and Marissa assessed the situation. They had, between them, one sniper rifle and one poisoned handgun designed to be used with the environment suit, two cell phones, neither of which could connect to the Network, fifteen hotel hangers, a tiny bottle of shampoo, and a knife that doubled as a tazer. The environment suit had been badly damaged by the fall and was no good even for keeping out the cold.

They were also trapped in a hotel in the middle of nowhere, and Marissa had just shot two people.

She sighed and curled up against Damien, trying to lend him some of her warmth.

All things considered, they were totally fucked.

unnatural wall of text there, but I want to make things less ass-pull ish in the future.

@Psycho: Marissa shot at Eos and Noriko from the roof, then jumped off to the ground floor to join up with Damien. Now Eos is passed out in the lobby after telling someone to get her first aid kit in her room but will probably live, Noriko is quite badly injured outside in the snow, and Marissa and Damien are in an unoccupied room.

Edit: And I'm going to sleep now. Night, you guys!

Itou, hearing the gunshots, grabs a few more grenades, tosses them out with superhuman accuracy at the sound she had heard.

Slamming home her next-to last clip, she fired at the sound, spreading shots out in a 15 centimeter radius. sliding over to the wall, she planned her next move, waiting for a reaction.

This is this.

Dilemma, this. The character Itou would have probably killed then has already gone on and done other things, but wasn't Itou inside the building when Marissa started firing? Look, it was godmoding and I really am sorry, but Marissa jumped off the building almost immediately and I'm not sure Itou would have got her.

Yeah, definitely last seen in the lobby talking about zombies.

"Awwwww I can't take it anymore," Jayde complained childishly. "I wanna see what's going on."

"Yeah but where do we start?" Zoe wondered.

"Well, There HAVE been some people who haven't returned from the snow for some reason," Brooke suggested. "But we better be careful though. Just about anything could be going on out there." After a thought he made up his mind, "Lets head out, we'll try to see what's happening in the distance, but stay close to the hotel walls so we won't be left too open."

"Great thinking Brooke," Zoe complimented. Brooke muttered "whatever" as they head out.

Meanwhile Ian was making it up elevator up to the floor where the gunshots were from. But now that he had a think of it. How high up was the gunshot?

Confused he decided to stop at the third floor and wandered off really really tired. Now that he thought about it, he hardly had any sleep before his stupid bosses gave him the false alarm. He then found a room with a broken handle and opened the door to come in hoping to use a bed.

"Goodness, yes, it sounded like gunshots to me!" She cringed inwardly. What kind of explicative was 'Goodness'? She didn't think she was much older than he was and she had dyed her hair maroon—she wouldn't pass for some innocent old woman and probably shouldn't try. "But I couldn't tell you more," she went on. "I turned in early tonight and missed the excitement." she tried to steer Ian back out the broken door. "Run on down to the front desk and I'm sure they'll set you up with something. You have a good night, now!"
