Well, it's not illogical to assume that a strong, independent woman who has repeatedly expressed the wish to not have kids, is not religious, and if she had a baby at this point would be in a very awkward situation, is likely to have an abortion. I think it's more a case of 'strong andindependent personality' + situation.
Scepticism and doubt lead to study and investigation, and investigation is the beginning of wisdom. - Clarence DarrowI can't see abortion. Too grim and sensitive a topic, and besides, it'd make the fans sob. A little bitty Barney and Robin? Going bye bye? Sad, sad, sad.
My vote is pregnancy scare, please god. Oh, and I know I'm very, very likely wrong on this- but PLEASE let it turn out Robin and Kevin never slept together. Because ew. They have anti-chemistry.
Actually, I just realized that it's very unlikely that Barney's the father. "The Rebound Girl", where Robin reveals she's pregnant, is set on Thanksgiving. Barney and Robin slept together two episodes ago in "Disaster Averted". And what episode came right before "Disaster Averted"? "The Slutty Pumpkin Returns", which is set on Halloween. So, unless Future Ted's gotten the chain of events screwed up again, less than a month has passed between Robin sleeping with Barney and finding out she's pregnant. It usually takes longer than that to find out, doesn't it?
They could have done it while she was ovulating and then there's 2 weeks after that until the missed period (assuming her cycle is like most women's) so if disaster averted happened early in the month there's plenty of time for Robin to miss her period and nowadays there are tests that test the week of the missed period.
So she could have freaked out if she was a day late and bought one of those and found out.
Well it looks like we have our answer on the whole Robin pregnancy thing. I really liked the framing device of Monday's episode, the change of perspective, along with the reveal of who she was really talking to.
But man, that was a series of big bombs to drop, all in one episode. AND it still leaves open the question of who the bride is at Barney's wedding.
Also it seemed odd to me that Robin didn't actually take a pregnancy test and jumped to the conclusion based on the fact she was just late. That doesn't seem in character for her, does it?

What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly.Maybe she had tested negative but her period still didn't show up? (she did say she was never late so I'd imagine she would test the first day of lateness. Then it didn't show up the next day so she made the doctor's appt.)
I really liked the episode (though the reveal at the end annoyed me a bit).
I did notice that the kids were in a room with the stormtrooper. And there were two of them. Assuming she didn't imagine twins. Her imagine spot is a life where she's married to Barney and has more than one child with him. I think this means she's obviously not over him/hasn't completely ruled him out.
I think it was two kids just to draw the parallel to Luke and Leia, and for the Generation Xerox gag. No deeper meaning.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. So, I just wanted to post this here because it made me laugh my ass off.
For Christmas, my brother's father got Just Dance 3, a dancing game for Wii.
One of the songs on the game is "Let's go to the Mall by Robin Sparkles"
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."I'm new to the forums and I don't know whether it was already posted or not, but I think I know the mother's identity. The text below isn't mine, I've found it on some image boards and wanted to get someone else's opinion on that.
1. On the first day of professor job it's revealed that Ted was in the wrong classroom for his first class, and "the mother" was there, in that class.
2. We already know that Ted met her at a "friend's wedding". And we know that it'll be Barney's wedding.
3. We met Barney's dad Jerry. He said he has 2 kids. We saw the yong one, a boy called Jerry Junior. The older half-sibling, Carly, a girl, goes to COLLEGE, and we didn't see her!
4. And that also explains why Ted speaks of "aunt Robin" and "uncle Barney" in the future.

It's been mentioned on a lot of forums, and though it is a clever idea don't forget that the kids also have an Aunt Lily and Uncle Marshall, which really falls under Honorary Uncle and doesn't need explaining.

How exactly add "strong and independent" up to "must abort the pregnancy" instead of...well.."raise the kid alone" or "Adoption" at least as option? Sorry but please elaborate.
