Gratuitous Japanese and anything else related to the wapanese sub-culture.

Ah, well; I suppose I can't really fault you for that. I have a similar distaste for the medical profession's fondness for Latin.

Shep from Interstella5555. Mmm, blue spaceman action hero.

What annoys me is intolerance for other languages sprinkled in the primary, no matter how broken. Gratuitous languages can be funny if you know the source language. Take Engrish.

What also annoys me is said Gratuitous language being mispronounced. Even if your language dosn't have the exact sounds needed, you could at least use the closest ones it has, instead of absolutely wrong.

You don't like Kate Winslet, EI? No problem. More for me, then! I would do very bad things to Kate Winslet.

The only time I like gratuitous foreign languages is for a bilingual pun or such. Which means it's not actually gratuitous. Oops.

Edit: @Matrix: I have stopped trying to convince my dad that it isn't pronounced "sa-key." I will admit to saying "carry-oaky" though. Bad habit.

On topic, Cillian Murphy. It started out as a joke because my friend was saying he's ugly, and I felt the need to take the opposite side just to be an ass. Unfortunately I convinced myself too well.

Not yet (it's on the Netflix queue), but I can imagine it's going to do awesome terrible things to my PSL for him.

@Zetaseal: Karaoke, as pronounced in English, is a naturalised loanword, not Gratuitous Japanese.

Eh, suppose that's true. I just remember we were constantly being corrected in Japanese club by the teacher. I've rarely had reason use it since, and it's become like a reflex. "Let's play carry-oaky - I mean, KA-RA-O-KE."

Well it would make sense to say it as in Japanese in a Japanese club or class.

And in Cantonese Chinese, it's effectively "kah lah okay".

Matrix: So you'd prefer "Ee er san ee er san one two three one two three ichi ni san" over "eeyersa[n] eeyersan[n] wun tu sree wun tu sree ichi ni san"?

Also, I find ye olde butchered englishe funny. And I have no opinion on Kate Winslet. What movies are we talking about here?

Oh.

Well, I don't care to see her naked anyway. And not like I'm a movie buff anyway.

I'll admit I'm not all that turned on by a naked body. Honestly. There's a certain amount of minor squick, in my opinion, that gets covered up by clothes. I don't like seeing male genitalia and mammary glands dangling around, for example.

To me, the naked human body is more a source of mystique and meaningful usage in animé than a source of fetish fuel.

I'm into clothes as much as nakedness, honestly. All for the variety.

People who enjoy being naked are hotter naked.

Although I don't quite get the male fascination for women in underwear or bikinis. That does almost nothing for me. I guess it's kind of none of the complexity and mystery of clothing, and none of the intimacy of nakedness.
