Nooo! A mic would be worse - you'd all hear my squeeing, and my Gratuitous Fangirl Japanese, and my shouted advice to characters, and... my reputation would never recover! ;_;

Might I inquire, what reputation is this, exactly?

Um... the slightly off-kilter (with perhaps a few too many berserk buttons) but generally level-headed and intelligent fangirl that normal people can talk to like a sensible human being about other topics, with which she can at least feign familiarity? I don't know -_-;

So pretty much Squee: The Masquerade?

I think you just hit on an awesome idea for an RPG, Matrix. In a World… that hates and fears fangirls...

But in reality they don't have magic powers tied to their Bishies.

@Lull: Oh my god! I made up a game like that when I was a kid! My friends and I would play it over MSN back when I still had the internet at my mom's house. We called it Ninjo no Bishounen (loosely 'Bloodshed of the Prettyboys'). It was basically a spinripoff of the Yu Gi Oh tv show incarnation of Duel Monsters.

Awesome. Squee: The Masquerade has a CCG (of sorts) right out of the box!

Wait a moment! Did you just summon a bunch of bishies in one turn?

So?

That's against the rules, isn't it?

Screw the rules, I have PSL!

Again with the data mining, dear Aunt?

Yes, Furiko, you must do an LP of TTGL on the anime/manga forum. It will be epic.

Also, at the end you have to take a picture of yourself pointing at the sky. Don't worry, I'll do one too. I think Fawriel should too!

We can be a little Gurren-Dan all on our own. waii

Also: Matrix, you are a fairy.

If you want gratuitous fangirl Japanese, I'd suggest reading Ghastly's Ghastly Webcomic. Fair warning: it's NSFW — and the fangirl has a penis.

Actually, in the interest of full disclosure, I generally dislike gratuitous Japanese. Well, any language. Same goes for laughing "jajajaja" when you're not otherwise a Spanish speaker.

I, on the other hand, see no harm in it. We live in a global culture, it's all a part of the meltin process, untill we reach a one world language. Or something.

I dislike gratuitous Chinese in much the same way I assume many people here dislike gratuitous English. It's often painful, and it's also difficult not to laugh sometimes.

However, I'm well aware that to an actual mainland China national, my Singaporean accent is nigh-incomprehensible.

@Faw and [AOD]: I don't have any editing software, besides Windows Movie Maker. Or a mic. Hell, I don't even have a cable to connect my camera to the computer at the moment. *is low-tech and lame*

The Shou-Gurren-dan? Fuck yeah, I'm in. SO THEN! WE'LL LIVE ON, BAR NONE!

@GMH: You know, sometimes there are just words in other tongues that work better to describe something. I could go on and on in English about Lina Inverse, and talk about how she's clever and devious and sometimes an outright swindler, but she's also a nice girl and considering the setting, all that stuff is probably her only source of income, and blah blah blah... Or I could just say she's maline and leave it at that.

@dkellis: I'm way too scared to indulge in Gratuitous Standard-Chinese, 'cause aside from Spanish and Hindi it's like the one language where my accent-fu fails me. I can get along fine in snippets of Russian and Italian and sometimes German (although I suspect years of French immersion mean that I sound vaguely lorrainienne), and even my ill-fated attempts to teach myself Gaelic, but with Chinese you just never know if you're really saying it right, and I don't want to have to bore somebody by makin' 'em have to correct my pronunciation in that tennis back-and-forth thing that happens. Is Cantonese any easier?

So... how 'bout them attractive fictional characters?
