Reuters: Trump says US to increase military sales to India, eventually provide F-35 jets.
A bit of an unusual move, given that India is also Russia's biggest arms export customer and operates many Russian systems, including the S-400 (which had gotten Turkey booted out of the F-35 program earlier).
A lot of Russia's usual customers have been more open to buying American stuff, so I don't think it's alarming news for anyone except Russian arms companies.
Continue writing our story of peace.I'd be less concerned with Russians acquiring the F-35 via India, than China doing it.
Currently and for the foreseeable future, Russian manufacturing is shit and they would severely struggle to build what is essentially a flying computer like the F-35.
China on the other hand would be pretty interested on getting a F-35.
Inter arma enim silent legesCiv Div posted a vid where he explained how he outsmarts the enemy (Turkish military, Daesh, Russians)
Among the tactics he used using fake entrance concealment, using umbrellas, blend in (eg don't use encrypted radios, use local SIM cards), trip wires and train to fight in low light conditions (eg fight and move around if your hideout has no electricity).
Take some of the material from the vid with a healthy dose of salt. The analog systems are one of the most criticized by Ukranian forces because they are highly susceptible to jamming and hostile signal takeover. This is one area in which the Russians do very well. Most of their failures are from lack of coverage or having to avoid jamming their own equipment, making the jammers less effective in certain situations. This is one of the most well-documented problems with analog control systems and has been known since the War in Afghanistan and Iraq II. The issue came up again when it was just the Ukrainians fighting mostly Russian-backed insurgents, and analog drones were having notable issues.
Umbrellas can block thermal, but you have to remember there are a lot of spots it is not covering. Unless you know exactly what direction the drone is looking, it won't help as much as you think. You have to have it pointed in the direction of the sensor, and you can't physically touch the fabric because thermal radiation will bleed through even clothing and begin to saturate the umbrella fabric. If you were hiding in a shallow hole covered by an umbrella or had other cover blocking views from different directions, this would be great. Thermal barrier sheets work great as long as no heat source touches them.
Who watches the watchmen? No injuries or casualties occurred.

Brown is the second Black general officer to have served as a chairman of the Joint Chiefs (in which capacity he apparently "pushed a woke agenda", according to Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth), while Franchetti ("a DEI hire") is the first woman to have become a chief of staff for a service branch (the second, Coast Guard Commandant Admiral Linda Fagan, was fired last month for similar reasons).
One day, we will read his name in the news and cheer.https://x.com/trip_to_valkiri/status/1678411853129555976

DW has a vid on why China's trying to create a large military building like the Pentagon. It's located SW of Beijing. Looks like Beijing wants to be made fast enough.
