A stupid Guardsman who thinks he could make money selling it? A carthief who was really disappointed when the HMMWV broken down on him?

I tried to walk like an Egyptian and now I need to see a Cairo practor....

How did we not suspect The Butler yet?

Ok, serious mode, I think they were implying far-right terrorists.

That, but Taira's suggestion that a Guardsman wanted to sell the Humvee is also valid given that high-ranking officers have been discharged for stealing electronics from military bases and shoplifting on-base.

Well. If you can't get a Mustang at 36% APR, you make do.

One day, we will read his name in the news and cheer.

Honestly, why the hell would anyone want to buy a humvee for non-military purpose, it eludes me.

It's uncomfortable, not that fast, eats up so much fuel, AND it's ugly as hell. And this is coming from a guy who thinks the Warthog looks awesome.

Or Arnold Schwarznegger, who single-handedly persuaded AM General to convert Humvees for civilian use and converted his personal Hummer to be environmentally friendly.

Yeah, you heard that right.

...Buying a stolen Humvee sounds almost as dumb as stealing one to sell it in the first place.

I'm having this vision of a Humvee with all these cartoony villains packed into it, clown car style.

OK, but look at it this way: Who wouldn't want a military-grade combat vehicle of their very own?

I mean, assume for a moment they've never been in the military long enough to realize that "military-grade" isn't a compliment.

The Humvee is one of two vehicles I wish I could kick the creator in the nuts for making until the end of the time. The other is whatever chucklefuck made the PATRIOT radar. Fuck that person's entire life.

eagle: Not really, just besides the fact the PATRIOT radar was a goddamn maintenance nightmare. Every week, like clockwork, we'd get a SCN or STR fault in the diagnostics.

NGL I saw a BTR 70 EW varriant for 12 grand in November... I was tempted.

What won out though was the realization of where the fuck would I park it, where would I take it if something broke... and not knowing if NY had any funny laws on BTR ownership beyond the standard disarm it.

And whoa, direct band gap transistor tech for a HGV defence AESA? Taira stop it I'm SHAKING
