What was the ridiculous part? Was it the marching band? I bet it was the marching band. Those are always over the top.
In the Air Force, you have a currency requirement based on what type of job you have (so it might be, for example, once every year, or more or less often), and when you come due, you get scheduled for a shooting day. Skip work and show up at the instruction facility, and you spend the morning in class learning how to shoot and how to operate the weapon and how to strip it and clean it and assemble it. Grab lunch, get out onto the range proper, load your magazines however they tell you to and hit whichever targets however they tell you to. If you make the minimum number of shots for each portion of the test, you pass. If you make over a certain number of shots total, you get Expert. Fail any given portion, and you have to come back to class again and reshoot.
Well the task force is there for a while in Mindanao, just in reduced numbers to mention prospective commandos.
And you're right that the public thinks the same way. Albeit his critics on the net are mocking him on why he didn't the Chinese to send in special forces since he's "good buddies" with them.
Ros: There is basically predetermined test where you go and shoot the weapon and are scored on your hits. The USMC divided its shooting up into two courses. Known distance and combat course. Combat course has knock down targets and has you shooting from and around props in different positions.
Who watches the watchmen?Surprise, surprise, the F-35 once again hits a snag.
TBF, "only" five pilots have suffered hypoxia so far. That said, the article points that this really isn't a good time for the F-35 to hit a snag, given the air show in Paris next week.

Disgusted, but not surprisedThe F-16's first decade was a little rough.
For entertainment value I present yet another name to walk away from to maintain sanity or read for amusement. Captain Kaye aka Randy Cramer.

Who watches the watchmen?
rollin' on dubs
Always a nut who wants attention. Put him in the bin with "otherkin" and those who claim to have "secret military records" to "prove" they were not basic training wasouts but really SEAL/SNIPER/NINJA/Assassin/Black ops.
Pathetic.
I tried to walk like an Egyptian and now I need to see a Cairo practor....https://ph.yahoo.com/news/k-pop-boycott-us-troops-concert-regrettable-seoul-082840790.html
Protests are made by activists in a supposed K Pop concert for USFK forces.
I was a Basic Training washout, and I will freely admit it. What bugs me is the bullshitters who were never in the military at all, and claim, "I was a Special Forces airborne ranger!"
To which I say: "Oh, izzat so? Well, which one were ya, Rambo??" Special Forces, Airborne, and Rangers are three entirely separate divisions. Nobody could have been in all of them. When I point this out to them, they never seem to have an answer...
This Space Intentionally Left Blank.

And in true slapstick fashion, each bullet narrowly misses as the American witlessly dances just out of the way each time.
