Syndrome from The Incredibles is a perfect example of this, but I can't think of a good picture that illustrates it.
Reaction Image RepositoryIt isnt irrelvant quite the contrary.
Marcus is an Escapist Character that was designed to channel the desires of being badass.
Did you knew the marketing campaing of gears of war 2 was Bigger better and more Badass?

As I mentioned, the Kick-Ass picture is good. Better, though, is Smokie's suggestion of some weedy guy having an Imagine Spot of himself as a superhero or suchlike. There's got to be more than a few of those out there.
What's precedent ever done for us?
Will this work? It's from The Breaker.
A friend is someone you trust to help you move. A best friend is someone you trust to hide the body.^^ That really doesn't show a wimp who wants to be badass. It just shows somebody attacking for some reason.
Reaction Image RepositoryNegi Defines this trope... Lets see if there is a decent image of it.
How about one of these? (I haven't resized them yet though) [1]

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Ah...well, I suppose Fan Myopia (not that I'm all that big a Buffy fan, but from the Buffy Speak and other tropes, I got the idea that everyone else was) kicked in when I put that image there — but it was a difficult concept to get over, and I thought it was a nice clear picture of a wimpy guy in a rather Bad Ass situation. Sorry for that.
On the other hand, I sincerely don't believe any of the suggested alternatives are even as good, much less better. I think color pics are generally better, something with relatively simple design (considering that we are generally asked to keep the pic within 300 pixels each way), and preferably without text. (And also, I personally can't tell one anime figure apart from another, especially without the blue hair — and I doubt I'm the only one like that.)
The biggest problem is that this a progressive concept — a person wishing to become something, rather than statically being something. It's hard to show wthat without motion.
Hmmm... maybe somebody could find something from one of Chuck Jones's "Ralph Phillips" cartoons, about the little boy who is constantly day-dreaming himself into adventures? I could have sworn I've seen a pic where he has a cloud over his head, in which he is a pirate or something.

Soo after closing the long discussion on Badass, can we get one for I Just Want to Be Badass that's not some sort of, I don't know...Demon hunter posing in a room of candles with a woman's face in the background?
I call JAFAAC on this one.
No suggesting more Badasses please, let's keep it about what the trope is about. Maybe a picture of some kid staring at a poster of a superhero?
