I want Sailor Moon just 'cause it wouldn't feel right for her not to be included. Dragon Ball and Sailor Moon are the big two animes from 90's nostalgia.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.
This is true.
Plus, Usagi might actually be able to take Cell.
This girl killed a sentient evil planet. Most characters in DBZ can destroy a planet. She blew up one that could fucking fight back.
Sailor Moon is not to be fucked with. She might be the one who finally gets a good hit in on Cell.
One Strip! One Strip! So, I know I mentioned that I want to see a Here Comes a Thought parody involving Piccolo teaching Gotenks about Fusion, but I want to go back to that, because I can't decide whether I want it to be a straightforward translation of the themes and message of the song but in a different context, like what they did with Giant Woman, or if it should be more of a humorous parody, with Piccolo teaching Gotenks how to ignore the voices in his head and focus on the fight.
On one hand, the former would be heartwarming as fuck and genuinely touching, on the other hand, we could have lines like "Here comes a thought, that might annoy you".
Yeah, so, I thought of a possible "Cell vs Saitama" episode where both would recognize that the other is a worthy opponent, charge at each other... And then Cell wakes up, still standing in that one spot of his, going "Crap, for once it looked interesting". And then Saitama wakes up (in that "punches his alarm clock through the floor" clip) and goes "Crap, for once it looked interesting". Whether that means that they're living in parallel universes or if one is fiction for the other is up to you.
...
Annnnnnnd that's why I don't write/shoot a comedy series.
See, that reminds me of a joke thing I saw of Saitama vs Goku; Goku starts powering up as a Super Saiyan Blue against Saitama, Saitama constantly has his "ok" face throughout, and it ends with Goku actually going bald, and Saitama getting an "oh fuck" face while saying "not ok".
Let's see if you can get past my Beelzemon. Mephiles, WARP SHINKA!Or Squirrel Girl so long as it's off panel.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I'm wondering how Saitama would be able to kill Cell.
I'm sure he would, 'cos that's his whole thing. But while his punches are ludicrously, horrifically, world-endingly strong, they are punches. Cell's regen means he needs to be incinerated, rather than splattered.
I have a message from another time...Cell's regen only means he has to be hit with an excessive amount of force. Compare Piccolo, who, while he can regenerate, can be severely wounded or beaten. Nappa killed him with a blast despite not completely incinerating him, and Cell was able to almost kill him by beating him up, breaking his neck, and blasting him through the side.
Being part-Frieza adds to his durability, but Freeza, too, can be beaten down, or left in a near-death state if he is mutilated. The gag would simply function so that Cell's regen is overloaded by Saitama - remember Cell was so injured after Gohan transformed he was willing to blow himself up for payback, so he, too, can be beaten through excessive blunt force despite Gohan not really mutilating or blasting him.
Meanwhile, Cell would have to pull what Vegeta did and switch to a gag manga fighting style to stand a chance. Arale or Squirrel Girl would be a better match because their gags match Saitama's in absurdity.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I've heard claims that she's even beyond Superman's level.
I'm only vaguely familiar with the series so I can't confirm or deny those claims, but damn.
No beer?! But if there's no beer, then there's no beef or beans!Remember, they can't have any of the people who Cell fights actually win, so if Saitama does make an appearence, he would have to lose. As they said before on twitter, they aren't Death Battle, so they aren't concerned with what would actually happen. Although if this was Death Battle, Saitama would still lose, since he has shown nothing close to even Freeza's level of power.
Didn't Boros shoot him with a beam that was meant to be a planet-buster, and he punched it aside with such force that Boros was blown apart?
Just saying that I wouldn't discount him even on the DBZ scale.
Re: Cell's regeneration. He can be exhausted and weakened physically. That is very true. But even when reverted to his one-android form, he did still manage to regenerate from one surviving cell after he exploded.

I have a message from another time...That said, even Boros didn't even come close to threatening Saitama's life in that fight. Dude says as much when Saitama tries to say it was a hard-fought battle. Boros was just the exceedingly rare opponent that took more than one hit to end.
The limit of Saitama's power isn't even close to being explored. And considering that his ennui and the question of what being a hero means is central to the story, it probably won't ever be.
I have a message from another time......Cell vs Saitama could be a fun match-up. They already did Sonic and Street Fighter out of nowhere.
...when was that stipulation made? :p
Also, Cell is basically one giant bug monster.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I remember a comic once where Vegeta fought Saitama on fairly even terms (as in more than a few Pummel Duel shots and whatnot.)
Yeah. He took a Consecutive Normal Punches to the chest and got basically turned to goo, but then pulled himself together. When he did die, it seems as though he basically burned out his stamina entirely, and couldn't maintain any form of regeneration any longer.
I have a message from another time...Indeed. Regeneration is a clever way to get around Saitama's "Obliterates foe in one punch" rule but, as noted, it's one that has already been explored. Saitama still won because Boros had no way to actually harm him and his regeneration was thus merely delaying the inevitable.
It's still quite a memorable and entertaining fight. Also, hilarious.
- Boros: You've broken the seal and unlocked MY TRUE POWER!!!
- Saitama: Ok.
Cell pulled the Chaos Emeralds from Sonic's backside, despite not having anyway to know what they are or what they do, and he learned Duel Monsters in a matter of hours which - as per the joke in the Abridged Series - is near impossible to do. Even Abridged Kaiba admitted that nobody knew how to summon Exodia because the rules of Yugioh make no sense, IIRC. He also knew the Sonic X theme song and that Knuckles would tell him he doesn't chuckle.
Considering that and Cell's perfect recollection of events including those on Namek, Cell could probably go full-Bobobo in these shorts and write Saitama out of the episode.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!

I hope Cell vs Kirito happens because I want to see what kind of character Cell would make in an mmo.
