No, Majin Buu is the strongest, mortal being in the universe; Frieza never was.

It would have been interesting to see what happened if Buu awoke a little sooner, and created a sort of massive gang war...unfortunately, I already know that answer.

Even then, Shin is stronger than Frieza, and Beerus and Whis are stronger than Frieza, with Toriyama even saying that Frieza will never be able to match Beerus, no matter what he does.

My growing disdain for Curb-Stomp Battle, Power Creep, Power Seep, and Hard Work Hardly Works makes me dislike this on principle.

Majin Buu might not be a god, but I don't think he really counts as "mortal". From the sounds of things he's existed longer than they have and in someome ways seems more "godly".

Oh, and "mortal" is totally a fine translation of the word "ningen" albeit much less common. Japanese is more fast and loose with these things.

Zamasu was an apprentice and also insane. I don't think we should be using him as the authority on matters like this.

Imagine the ammunition Zamasu would've had if he'd known about Majin Buu.

Shin is stronger than Frieza

Wasn't that by Shin's admission? His refusal to interfere combined with his surprise at mortals being strong enough to face Dabura makes me wonder.,

with Toriyama even saying that Frieza will never be able to match Beerus, no matter what he does.

I actually thought that was hysterical.

I mean, Dabura is also supposed to be in the same ballpark as Perfect Cell, who'd you know, annihilate Frieza in a matter of seconds.

There must be a strongest person, but this story doesn't give a shit about changing who that is, even retroactively.

A dude had plans in motion to create machines that could stomp the shit out of Freeza before our heroes even left for Namek.

God's exist that could brush the galactic emperor off their lapels without much effort.

There's a genie thing that ate a bunch of said gods years before our heroes were relevant/born.

There are gods over gods over gods that have always been around and even known about by Freeza, but just weren't mentioned until now.

Rarely is a character being made or introduced as stronger than the last thing given much more explanation than "they just are", or "the potential was always there".

GT's "he's even stronger than Majin Buu" scene is shockingly on-brand for how memed it is.

I actually did like the Sorting Algorithm of Evil in DBZ.

Low class Saiyan? Not as strong as Elite Saiyan. Not as strong as the strongest being in the universe (who is fittingly way stronger than a character boosted by a rare galactic event). Not as strong as a bio-engineered monster made from said strongest being. Who isn't as strong as some ancient evil that had been sealed away for millennia. It all made some sense to me.

... other than Androids. Cell worked for me because his power was partially based on Freeza's, but the Androids just... were that damn strong.

Dr Gero took energy and did science! He overclocked the polarity of the neutron flow, because he's a genius.

Goku climbed a long stick up to the moon and dropped a mafia rabbit off on it and we're calling bullshit on the cyborgs? This series was never grounded in reality.

[up] that was back when it was a pure Gag manga. Hence why after the genre shift to fighting shonen, they were never mentioned again since they got put there.

I also found it eyebrow raising that cybernetic parts could make a pair of teenagers stronger than Frieza.

Like, if it were that, relatively, easy, why hasn't anyone else in the galaxy done it?

No one in the galaxy as good as Gero. Which might make you raise your eyebrows, but, again, Bulma making a time machine was a huge fucking deal apparently. Basically the same. Apparently Earth has the smartest people ever.

Yeah, Bulma broke the universe and did something thought impossible, and she admitted that Gero was beyond her level. Gero is the best robotics expert in the universe, and he makes Freeza's best scientists look like children struggling to put together a model radio. Hell, Bulma's very first feat of science was creating a detector that can sense goddamn MAGIC over an absolutely absurd radius!

I do believe, according to Jaco, her first feat of science was actually fixing a spaceship.

Although I suppose that's more a feat of engineering but whatever.

To be honest, the Galactic Patrol should have been coming to earth and recruiting people like Bulma (when she was old enough) and Gero.

Maybe then, they could have gotten some powerful weapons and warriors on their side to actually deal with Frieza.

Well, the Dragon Rader is impressive, but apparently magic puts out a detectable form of radiation. Since she already had a ball, it probably wasn't that hard to study what it was putting out.

Yeah seriously. Capsules are ridiculously amazing tech. Seriously, that solves so many infrastructure problems ("how do we ship this huge number of items to this country? Oh, just turn it into a 1-ounce capsule and fly it all there overnight") that it is absolutely no surprise at all that the Briefs are the richest people in the world.

Oddly, capsules are easy to overlook because they're so ubiquitous to the setting. They're just so commonplace that it's easy to not think of them. They invented this incredible technology that basically reinvents the entire concept of how society functions and has infinite ramifications for the global economy, but then Reed Richards wasn't useless and instead mass-produced it and now it's everywhere.

And since it's everywhere, it's easy to forget how insane that technology really is.

Shit, say a Capsule is a Senzu Bean and feed one to Vegeta in the Saiyan Saga. Then remotely expand it inside him.

Saga over.

I still want my powered armour.

Unfortunately, that would require some understanding of Android tech (or at least I think so) and Toriyama made sure there was noting left of that but 17 and 18, plus Bulma and her father together can't even understand it anyway...and the Z Warriors destroyed any notes or records when Trunks and Krillin destroyed the lab, which I now question since the only thing they really needed to destroy was Cell.

Point is, it can't happen.
