...yeah, but that wasn't the point. We were talking about how powerful he was in canon, not TFS.
Oh and he has an Oh, Crap! face on while it happens so I doubt TFS will get much out of it.
I fail to see how filler is automatically a bad thing.
One of the problems with the Dragon Ball filler was that Toriyama was writing the Manga simultaneously to the Anime being made. And when I say "simultaneously" I actually mean that Toriyama had as bad a case with procrastination and writer's blog as Douglas Adams, and would take a lot longer to make a single issue of the Manga than Toei would take to make an episode of the Anime. Which means that while Toei released a new episode fairly regularly, Toriyama would not release a new manga chapter regularly at all. So Toei had to make a lot of filler in order to give Toriyama more time to write more Manga, because obviously, considering the Anime was based on the Manga, the Anime couldn't go further in the story than the Manga did.
Some of the filler is good. Some of it was bad. All of it was necessary from a development standpoint.

Uh... no. They both released on a weekly schedule. It's that it takes more than one chapter of the manga to create an episode of anime unless you throw in a fucktonne of padding, which they did a lot of for DBZ (which is where the complaints of the agonizingly slow pace come from. When they couldn't even stretch it out, they resorted to filler. I prefer filler to stretching things about because you can just ignore it and it doesn't worsen the canon stuff.
The disdain from filler largely comes from it generally being some pretty bad shit, and conflicting with stuff from the manga. Like villains keeping their bodies in Hell, or lots and lots and lots of power level bullshit.
The reason why Cell can't blow up the solar system is because if he could, his and Gohan's kamehameha struggle should of torn to planet to pieces completely. And even when overpowering the blast, Gohan's attack doesn't even go all the way out of the orbit where the moon would of been, and dissapates then and there.

Watch SymphogearExcept for the fact that Gohan overpowered Ceels at.tack as well, which should of made the reflected attack more powerful.
....Still doesn't beat Silver Age supemran destroying a Dead Solar system by Sneezing.....
Watch SymphogearTake a poke into the conversation, but yeah, I agree.
I feel like people hate filler on principle regardless of what it actually is or it's actual quality, and a lot of filler hate feels a lot like manga-elitism, an assumption that all filler is of the same quality (which, especially in DBZ's case, is not true), and a failure to accept the various incarnations of the series as being equal in existence.
In general it feels like being totally dismissive about something for an entirely arbitrary reason, especially given how much of DBZ (and how many interesting scenes) came about as the result of filler.
And speaking of which, new episode... about Maron...
Probably not proving my case. ;-)
Then again, I dislike Maron but really enjoyed the Garlic Jr. Saga. Which is totally skipped over in favor of Maron here, but... eh.
Saw the payoff coming as soon as the whole insurance scam thing was explained.
Anyone else think the Mr. Popo gag is starting to feel overused? Hell, one of the things I'm starting to look forward to is that he definitely gets beaten in the Majin Buu Saga, though I'm sure they'll have lots of fun with him tossing Dende off the lookout.

A NEW RANDOMVERSE ENTRY!
"Why is this relevant?", you may ask.

Even if I want to see that happening eventually, TFS is just way too in love with Popo's badassery to truly have Boo mop the floor with him. They'll just digitally use Blue Popo as the pansy while the real Popo was off doing something else.
As much as I don't want that, I can totally see this happening. You might as well wish Chuck Norris was just a normal guy.
I like Filler when it offers criminally underused characters A Day in the Limelight. Therefore, I liked a bit of DB's filler and the Garlic Jr. Saga.
Do not obey in advance.^ And most of the filler in the Majin Buu Saga, which had some added bonus of filling in a plot hole or two, or at least a bit of almost criminal lack of explanation in the plot.
Given that the more it went on the more DBZ glossed over much of it's character base in favor of others, the filler actually paying attention to them and giving them actual roles in the plot, however minor, is a godsend if you actually like those characters the plot doesn't deem important and want to see more of them.

Popo fighting Goten and Trunks is just bullshit filler, don't think about it too much.
There's no base power level to become a Super Saiyan, that's just a very popular rumour (although the number varies). However the kids as Super Saiyans are most likely stronger than #18. And by "most likely" I mean "everything but directly stated".
Oh, and the Saibaiman are weaker than Raditz. Raditz has a Battle Power of 1,500 and the Saibaiman are 1,200.
And I don't think any of the humans are planet busters. The weakest character we've seen who could actually blow up a planet was first form Freeza. Vegeta's claim that he'd destroy the Earth is contested just as much as Cell's claim that he'd wipe out the solar system.
