OK, so I went to look up the other abridged series that Kaiser and Taka used to do before TFS. Kaiser did a Lupin the Third abridged that was actually kinda good (if a bit too into referencing different animes), and Taka collaborated with a friend named Cheesemanjoe for G Gundam Abridged. Watching the first episode of it, it wasn't really good. I don't know if it picked up any, but I couldn't make it through the first episode.
Also, interesting tidbits I learned from the first season of DBZ Abridged: The original voice of Chiaotzu in Episode 6 was Fro Legend, who also went by the name Whiteash. She apparently used to do Saiyuki Reload Abridged, which was one of the other earlier abridged shows from right after Little Kuriboh and Masako X started getting attention. TFS intended to have her voice Chi-Chi and Android 18, but she departed before they could do that (something about her getting a job in South Korea), leading to Chi-Chi's original voice (before Hnilmik) being Kris Rix from Sailor Moon Abridged (which in retrospect was kind of fitting, since the line about "castrating the messenger with a carving knife" is the kind of comedy Kris Rix was known for in Sailor Moon Abridged).
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Maybe get Purple Eyes WTF to voice Luffy or Lelouch. Or both. Seriously, imagine Cell trying to play off of any of Purple Eyes WTF's characters.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?I loved Yusuke's nonchalant noping out of fighting Cell, and they way Cell indifferently just let them go all chill.
Yu Yu Hakusho's weightclasses are a bit below Cell's it's true. I don't think anyone in that series gets past Nappa.

I could buy Yomi, and thus the late-game protagonists (all of whom are explicitly weaker than Yomi iirc), fighting Nappa and not dying immediately. I might even consider the idea that a good fight might be had out of it, if I heard a decent argument for it.
There's no way in hell anyone in YYH gets close to matching Vegeta. Let alone beaiing him.
"Planet busters" in YYH Hakusho are weird, in that it's one of those supernatrual elements that got blended into the Shounen tropes rather than phased out entirely as the series went on. Strong-enough demons and being with spirit power (S-Rank, like the video mentions) have power that's so impressively otherworldly that the mortal realm can't take it, and thus the Earth will (eventually) fall apart from pressure alone. That doesn't mean they have the power to actually destroy the planet, let alone any planet they choose, at will.
I've never been involved in conversations like that, but I assume that's where a lot of the attempts to justify them being stronger than they are come from.

Eh, I could buy that since that was back when the manga was less serious, and that technique was enough of an outlier, that someone could be unable to blow up the moon and still be way better than Roshi at being fast and punching good.
As far as anime and manga above Dragon Ball, Gurren Lagann and comparitively similar Super Robot Genre series are above most of Z, though with Super, There's a fine line there.
Watch Symphogear

Dr. Raichi is cool, but I prefer his much hairier cousin Dr. Ranbuutan.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!
