It should also be noted that Nowacking helps with the editing for some of the TFS Gaming stuff.

I'd recommend the previously mentioned Golden Sun The Abridged Series by Magmabear/KisukeOboro, as I found it pretty funny. It's also a neat take on the concept, since it's done with a game editing software. It might be difficult to find, though, as Magmabear's channel was taken down a couple times, and it can only be found now through archive channels.

I second watching Golden Sun: The Abridged Series. Avatar Abridged as well, thought I find it kinda hard to remember.

I'm pretty partial to hbi2k's trilogy of Berserk Abridged, Gantz Abridged, and Vision of Escaflowne Abridged for how they work, not just as parodies, but also as analyses of the storytelling conventions in each series.

And apparently there was an entire "War of the Abridged Series" that went on shortly before DBZ Abridged began. Seems like a version of the Nostalgia Critic-Angry Video Game Nerd feud from around that time but on a wider scale.

Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?

Who underhypes Part 1 of Jo Jo? Sure, it's not as good as the later parts and Part 3 is the most famous (and arguably the best) but it's still really damn good.

I'm not even sure if they were talking about Part 1, Jojo has so many parts that could cover lots of the earlier arcs.

But assuming Part 1, it definitely appears to be one of the more unpopular parts so I can see where that's coming from. Except I don't think it's under hyped, it is genuinely quite weak. The only time I think people are putting down the earlier parts to overhype later parts is when people overhype SBR by putting down ALL SIX PARTS before it.

Part 1 isn't even bad, it's just inferior to every subsequent part after it due to araki still getting his style down.

I'd definitely call it bad. First few episodes/chapters are gripping and then it becomes a snooze fest until the decent finale.

That doesn't vibe off bad.

That seems below average.

I wouldn't call a snoozefest average at all, and that's what it spends most of its time being. The good/decent moments don't come close to outweighing it.

Below average isn't average. Unless it's just that much more boring than you're making it seem.

Oop, read that as average. But snoozefest is not a term I use often, so below average is still being light on it. Once hamon is introduced I lose any investment in the anything happening and just find it ridiculous in a bad way.

I've gotta admit, I am interested in hearing Kaiser as a voice director.

I'm sorry that part doesn't engage you (we all deserve stuff that does). It did for me at the time, but to each his own, I suppose.

I have a message from another time...

Like, I would totally be into like. Just one video apiece of everyone and one of their recording sessions with Kaiser.

I'm especially curious about their recording booth in their actual studio in Texas.

I'd like to see what these dorks are doing now that they're professionals.

Yeah, I watched YYHA a few years back. I'm into DBZA, I love YYH, and Lanipator is great so... yeah.

Let's just say I was tremendously disappointed.

[up][up] From what I've heard, voice acting is a weird job.

I've heard the same. Like, grunting. Nobody thinks about grunting but, like, it's a big part of voice acting.

  1. We need you to make a sound like you've been stabbed in the chest with a spear.
  2. Now make one like you were hit in the face with a big block of metal.
  3. Now we need you to sound like you were punched in the jaw.
  4. Now the sternum.
  5. Now the balls.

You walk into the studio and spend hours, even days on various pain noises.

EDIT: On that note, I love TFS's "character tumbling end over end" grunts. They always crack me up.

Which was also a really good pain noise from TFS. Bravo to Lani for that squeal.

@Saiga: Yeah I was talking about Part 1. On multiple occasions I've seen people go "hey I know Part 1 is weak but power through it cause Part 2 rules" only for the people watching to end up going "yo what were you talking about? this is incredible".
