Unless they forget about it.
Running Gags are awes-ah...repetitive.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Yeah, uh, this is weird.
I mean, I actually like the Popo jokes but I think there is zero harm (or aggression) in mentioning that a lot of people are sick of it. Because it's true.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.So plainly stating a fact, without generalizing, is rude and aggressive now?
Look, there is being courteous, and there is dancing around your words to not risk even slightly offending someone. I'm more than willing to do the former, but not the latter.
And, frankly, if you think the statement "some people dislike a joke and your opinion doesn't influence theirs" is "unpleasant'", then, like I said before, that is your problem, not mine.

His post didn't even dismiss the person's opinion.
Saying the "joke is fine" doesn't even make sense as a response to "people are tired of —- joke"...that's dismissal.
That response is what
was referring to.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. It is if it's done in a certain way.
Responding to a person stating their opinion with "your personal feelings don't come into play" is aggressive. Stating that other people objectively have different opinions is unnecessary. Both statements in the conversation were generalized so there's no reason to pick on one statement over the other.
Being kind and having tact is more important than being right.
..Am I really having to explain this? Did you even pay attention to the context of the statement? I don't care that Ghirliz likes Popo jokes, that's not what I responding to. I was responding to him going "Popo jokes are fine" as if that somehow negates the point that not everyone likes them.
I agree being, tactful is important, we, however, seem to disagree on what constitutes being tactful. If you think commenting on someone else's opinion is aggressive, then I'll have to disagree. If you stating that your personal opinions most likely have nothing to do with other people's opinions is aggressive, then I'll also have to disagree with that as well.

Let's all take a minute. Deep breaths.
This is what was said. This is not a statement of fact, just a typical TV Tropes post. YMMV.
This is a vague, but nonetheless acceptable statement. Not a statement of fact. Someone could write "good god I'm so sick of Abridged Cell, I wish they'd just move on." And I could reply, "Abridged Cell is fine." I'm not making an objective statement of fact. You can challenge this statement but it doesn't need this kind of response:
This is a little aggressive. It's also not wrong. Naturally there are people who disagree with the gag. Point is no one said "no one is tired of the gag" only that "the gag is fine." That's why it comes off aggressive. It's challenging a statement that never existed.
And this is where the debate starts getting silly because no one challenged the statement "some people are tired of this gag." That's it, that's the conflict. Everybody just needs to step back and realize this is all really silly. Nobody is technically wrong here.
- People are tired of the Popo gag.
- Not everyone.
- I suppose, but I think a number of people in this thread are.
- Ah yes, quite.
- Indeed.
Bam. Done. Slap a Z on the end of it and call it finished.
Now everyone just relax to Jeice getting punched in the face
. Because that scene is hilarious and it really shouldn't be.

One Strip! One Strip!
(6) As you should.
If this were the Inheritance Cycle, Skyrim, or Metal Gear Solid your lack of verbal precision may have killed someone. Please refrain from speaking in anything other than a cockney British accent from this point forward, what what.
Anyway. If there's anything positive to come from this - I think we can all agree, that even TFS agrees that the joke needed to move forward a little. I rather like that Popo got depressed for a bit, and later grew to like Dende. Other jokes that have been killed off/have evolved were:
- Kaioken (when it failed against Frieza)
- Team Threestar (when Vegeta outright bitched Krillin out about it in Kai Abridged Ep 2)
- Goku baffling Gohan - Gohan outright called him on this when they got into the ROSAT.
- Goku baffling anyone really - Bulma doesn't bat an eye when he tells her about the balls, Vegeta copies Bulma and just "accepts Goku's compliment about his pink shirt," and Cell flat out no-sells any confusion Goku throws at him, whereas he was completely flustered when Goku saved Piccolo and Tien.
- Goku being dumb - I mean he still is, but we've gotten moments like him explaining Super Saiyan, and him threatening Cell. The joke has to expand to a point where Goku can reasonably function as a person.
- Little Green - Dende smacked Krillin's shit for that, as we all saw.
- The Android Count - Vegeta's cool response in the Android 13 film whereas before he was getting pissed at the mere idea of there being more androids.
- Chi-Chi - like we've gone from Chi Chi being in the way to Chi Chi actually getting her way. Her rage toward Goku came full circle and she finally got to a point, just as she did in canon, where she just accepts it and makes the most of the situation.
- Even the Krillin Owned count - like when Yamcha freaks out and Krillin chooses not to, and when he and Trunks bond while blowing up Gero's lab, and when Krillin no-sells the machine gun in Dr. Raichi.
- Goku sincerely caring about Krillin after Frieza blew him up, compared to him not caring when Raditz smacked Krillin through Kame House.
- Also Yamcha - I mean, his comeback to Vegeta, plus his gradual evolution from Butt-Monkey that nobody respects to Only Sane Man. IIRC Krillin was kind of "meh" when Yamcha died in the Saiyan saga, and now he and Yamcha are working out and eating froyo together.
The jokes evolve with the characters. The Popo gag will probably evolve again once Buu appears.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Next thing ya know: A person will say they find the joke funny in a non-ambiguous way.
Unfortunately that will never happen, because no one wants to tip the fire.

Cortex should take a 12-step plan off a 10-step pierRight. Pilaf isn't a strong fighter. Thus he's eeeeeeeeeeeevil.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.I won't lie, I was rooting for their Houndoom to bite it in their Soul Silver Nuzlocke because I thought they overplayed the "Hux is going to fuck your mom" gag. Same with why I was happy when Slowmara was KO'd.

I feel like Team Four Star not knowing when to let up on a joke is a thing that's easy to agree with. Maybe the bit you wished they'd let die is different, but having at least one is probably pretty common. Especially if you watch their Let's Plays, they don't let anything go there.
