He would've died shortly after...

On Lunch, see the thing is Toriyama did exactly what he should have with her. He wrote her out.
The last time the human treatment was brought up, and I argued that the characters weren't owed anything, it was brought up that Toriyama should have written them out instead of keeping them around if they're not going to contribute. And I didn't get a chance to respond (it's hard to keep up with the thread when I am dealing with work stuff), but I definitely agreed with that.
Launch was always a very minor character. If she had stuck around, she'd have nothing to contribute and it'd be really obvious that she has no more reason to be there. At least the human fighters are able to provide exposition and commentate on current events.

Not quite. He kills everyone on Earth then goes to Namek and dies.
Nappa would still be there...but instead of lasting long enough to kill Piccoro, he ends up with half his head cut off.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Yeah. That's kinda something I can agree with as well. It's irking to me that he keeps Oolong and Puar around when they are no longer relevant in any way, shape or form.
Well, this is where it would have been nice if he'd considered making her a martial artist as well. That would have given her a purpose in early dragon ball (and a female fighter before Chi-Chi). You could still get big jokes out of her switching personas through sneezing, with blue Launch being rather harmless, while blonde Launch fights with her fists instead of using guns (which are 100% useless in dragon ball anyway, as even at that point, Goku was essentially bulletproof, and even Krillin and Roshi could tank them pretty well).
But he didn't, and when she lost her value, he got rid of her. Smart move, since she was never more then a joke character. Maybe it's because I hate characters who are nothing more then jokes (despite liking Launch) that it bothers me so much that she's gone.
...I think I lost my train of thought here. I'm gonna let Saiga tell me why I'm wrong EXPLAIN HIS OPINION again, and see if I can get back on track here.
About Launch; she always showed up for every single tournament along with all her other friends, yet when the Z portion happened, she's only ever mentioned all of once by Krillin, who says she's still chasing after Tien. Besides that she's never mentioned or shows up again for anything else beyond anime filler and the OVA with Tarble; hell, she doesn't even show up for Bulma's birthday party, despite being her only real female "friend" before she started to hang around Chichi due to their husbands, nor the tournament with Universe 6. It's like, either she had a falling out with everyone due to something and was just forgotten about, which is weird since they allowed Vegeta to hang around them, or she's permanently in her blonde form and just doesn't care about anyone beyond Tien.
Let's see if you can get past my Beelzemon. Mephiles, WARP SHINKA!I don't think that's what he meant about "not having phones"...
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. They were in a ship at the time. And I think she called them.
But yeah, their lack of phones is a thing, since Videl once saved the day by actually having one.
One Strip! One Strip!Yeah. She was at her house, and called them while they were flying in a ship. They were moving Goku at the time after the fight with 17 and 18.
One Strip! One Strip!Right. She (Videl) had a mobile and no one else did.
Bulma called from her house phone (during the Cell Saga) and got Trunks and company while they were flying Goku to a new spot to recover.
One Strip! One Strip!
