I have so many issues with this.
1: If Broly can destroy an entire galaxy just like that, wouldn't Buu be able to do so as well? Why didn't Kid Buu or Evil Buu just do that immediately?
2: Doesn't this require Broly's energy blast and the resulting explosion to travel way, way ,way faster than light? (I'm assuming Broly fired in the direction of the galaxy rather than Broly and Paragus litrally going to South Galaxy for reasons I'll explain below),
3: Doesn't this mean Paragus was on New Vegeta while Broly destroyed South Galaxy and then arrived on earth a couple of minutes later? This makes the travel speed inconsistencies with the Namek arc and the Saiyan arc even worse. And that's just assuming that Broly fired in the direction of the galaxy. If Broly and Paragus actually traveled to South Galaxy, destroyed it, went back to New Vegeta to leave Broly and then traveled back to Earth in that timespan things get even dumber.
Edit: I guess I should ask whether the destruction of South Galaxy happened right before the events of the movie in the original too.

Setting the movie during the gap in the Cell Games does raise the question of how does Broly compare in power to Perfect Cell. They can't be too different in power, since Goku and friends have roughly similar difficulties with both of them.
(Also, Android 13 wasn't that long ago either. It's going to be a busy couple of weeks for the Z-warriors, especially if they get stuck fighting Bojack just after Cell's death.)
It also raises the issue of people seeing Goku and Gohan fight before the Cell Games (and Gohan seeing Goku fight for realsies)

It actually isn't said that Broly did so in one go.
As for travel between galaxies, remember that Namek isn't within the North Galaxy as it is outside Kaio's jurisdiction. Yet Goku's revamped spaceship is able to travel there in six days.

Where is it stated that Namek is outside Kaio's jurisdiction? It being in another galaxy seems weird seeing how Goku could travel there so quickly in a Saiyan ship while Vegeta and Nappa required a year to get to Earth from wherever they were. Remember that there's apparently only five galaxies in this universe.
...You mean Broly infected by Baby?
And Resurrection F.
Poor Vegeta.
If Vegeta could do what Broly did, Whis and the others would find Vegeta in a Super Saiyan Blue bubble covered in Frieza's entrails.
They'd have a shouting match, because Whis's bubble wouldn't be able to get the sound from Vegeta's.
Princess Trunks was the funniest thing in this half-movie. XD I cracked up every time it came up. Goddammit, Vegeta.
While I've always felt that Goku's kind of a shitty husband and father and easily one of the forerunners in the field of "Protagonists who romanticize fatherly/husbandly neglect", Vegeta isn't any better. In fact, due to being the Token Evil Teammate, he's allowed to be significantly worse in the Android arc.
Fans like to argue about whether Goku or Vegeta is the good parent/husband, and it's nice to see TFS take the more neutral ground. For as much as TFS likes to play up Goku's bad parenting, it's moments like Princess Trunks that really help drive home that Vegeta's still King Shithead.
Goku neglects, Vegeta abuses, and TFS hasn't lost sight of either.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.I like the change made to the plot in this version. Paragus's plot is similar and has the same endgoal, but it doesn't actually involve Broly at all, because Paragus knows how hard he would be to rein in. He's still planning on killing Vegeta with a piece of space junk, and he still used Vegeta's ego to lure him in. Except instead of his ego in battle, he just uses Vegeta's desire to be a proper king.
I have a message from another time...Well, giving him a fake throne was still part of it, but he also fed Vegeta a line that the Legendary Super Saiyan was active and wreaking havoc, and that clearly only a hproblem mighty Vegeta could possibly be strong enough defeat such a warrior. He then gave Vegeta the runaround with "oh we haven't located the LSS yet. Another day and we should be able to pinpoint his position" for a few days.
I have a message from another time...

By the way, was the whole "Destroying South Galaxy" thing part of the original?
