I'm not really sure how Goku's is pink.
◊ Bright red yeah, but not pink. Of course, I don't really remember how it looks in the show itself.
I'm going to attribute that to poor coloring. It's red in the games and official art.
This song needs more love.I prefer absurd to bland.
But both terms are an exaggeration of how I feel about this. I just think SS 4 is more visually appealing than SSG.

I have a message from another time...Eh.
I think both have their potential appeal.
God and Blue are simple, with one being different from the other forms, and the other taking that power and mixing it with something he is most familiar with.
SSJ 4 is very different from what came before, but it kinda ties back into the the previous Oozaru transformation, bringing the two powers together and turning them into one new form.
One Strip! One Strip!I greatly prefer SS 4. God I could manage, since I appreciated the effort to go "back to basics", but then came Blue which left me wondering about the friggin' point.
SS 4 actually looked like something new rather than a poor attempt at fanart, and while the justification was kinda wonky, it reached back to one of the more classic elements of DB and at least they tried to do something a bit more interesting than "want it real bad, yell loudly, boom new power multiplier".
Seriously, of all the things that got tossed from canon with GT, I consider SS 4 to be the biggest loss.

Yeah, I do prefer SSJ 4 to SSJG and Blue.
IMHO the later two became what they were out of some laziness. "Hey, same models, different hair and eyes. Done"
Maybe you will, but I'm suddenly unable to watch any videos, so I'll have to wait until they put them all on youtube, or figure out why they won't load properly for me.
So once again, I'm the internet (and by default, the Universe's) Yamcha.
It displeases me.
One Strip! One Strip!I used to really like SSJ 4 when I was a kid, but my opinion on it has soured over the years. Same with SSJ 3 too. They both just look too silly to take seriously, which is a huge detriment for SSJ 4 in particular which desperately wants to be taken seriously. SSJ 3 at least has the benefit of being introduced in an arc that can be roughly described as, "Revenge of the Silly".
SSJ 3's ridiculousness fits right in with Buu Buu Volleyball, Candy Beam, a bubble gum monster, the Fusion Dance, etc.
SSJ 4's ridiculousness feels entirely unintended. There is no question in my mind that it was designed with the intent of being unironically badass as perceived by a 12-year-old in the 90's.
I really like SSJG because it feels more in the spirit of Dragon Ball. It's not just a palette swap; Goku also shrinks down. His muscles deflate and I think he might even lose a bit of height. It's the Super Saiyan equivalent of Frieza's Final Form, minus the 100% inflation: it communicates how potent it is in traditional Japanese style, where small and quick means ultra-dangerous while large and muscular means cannon fodder.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Hrrrm, true, forgot about that.
Still, prefer SSJ 4 :-P
Plus you know, being silly is a plus. I mean Cell's perfect form is a guy whose DNA gives him a crown and shoes

I don't really find SSJG comparable to Frieza's final form at all. While Frieza ended up smaller, his final form (and to a lesser extent the Androids and Kid Buu) carried with it a small, unstated sense of power. You instinctively knew that he was more powerful now than ever before and that everyone was screwed. With God, Blue, and Golden Frieza, you don't get any of that.
