What's the Japanese word for the genre that the Dbz movies are in? It comes out to basically be akin to 'popcorn flick', where it's got a peaceful opening arc, the villains show up they kick ass, then the good guys somehow win, the end. It's got a specific word for it and almost all of Tori's Non Serial Movies are it.

No, that's just direct to video specials usually bundled with a volume.
There is a specific word for the style of plot Toei movies go, it's come up on TFS streams before when talking about the movies and the specific lack of characterization and such in them.
The villains are flat and the heroes are just tropes of their former selves because that's the genre, the whole thing is just going through the motions to get to the action drama and victory on the big screen cause that's only thing the movie was made for.
DBZ, Precure, One Piece, Detective Conan and like 99% of all other anime or Toku movies based on a series follow it.

Well, that was entertaining.
The placement of 19 and 20 (barring the missed opportunity for a pun) is pretty good as well.
One Strip! One Strip!Everything that isn't Broly in Bio-Broly is pretty good.

I couldn't give less of a shit about Broly, but I definitely liked Bio-Broly for everything else about it.
The villain of that was basically Broly-In-Name-Only anyway. It's an acid blob monster that was spends about two minutes as a clone of Broly, because the name Broly puts butts in seats apparently.

It's funny how they already did this matchup in Death Battle.
