We only want the sounds in our head...and the undescribable sound in your ears that comes after dead silence.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.Right. I'm a little late to the Female fighter discussion (which is funny, because I've always been annoyed at the lack of female fighter in the series):
Took me a while (and only after reading a few posts) to realize that the mountain was metaphorical.
As others have said, no female character really tried to climb it. (18, hilariously enough, basically got dragged up said mountain, kicked the guy who dragged her up there to his death, then just stuck around where she was, because few people could actually pass her).
Do I wish there were more straight up female fighters in the series? Hell yes! It's just very odd to me that all the significantly powerful fighters are mostly male (there's Vados, but I always said we'd never see her so much as throw a punch, and coincidentally enough, her status as a angel means she never will, despite being quite possible the strongest non mortal female fighter in the series).
There's the House-wife Lan-fan (whose strategy was stripping), Chi-Chi, who was brought back at complete random, and is only married to Goku because Toriyama wanted to force himself to draw her more as punishment, 18, who's still pretty awesome, but suffers from the same Can't Catch Up as everyone else, male or female) and Videl, who was already outclassed, then got a horrific beatdown from a big hulking male, and promptly gave up fighting to become a house wife afterwards.
Now, at any point, Toriyama could have perhaps done a bit more with some of his characters, but he doesn't seem to think about them much as fighters. They sometimes can fight, but that doesn't seem to be thing that decides whether they are important. Bulma is still pretty much a main character, despite the fact that she can't so much as throw a punch to save her life (Time Machine folks).
Maybe if there wasn't such a massive power-creep, but that wouldn't be Dragonball.
......Wow. I don't really know if I have anything to say that hasn't already been said.
....I will admit, I'm dreading Videl's arrival with how Dende is acting....unless she's the one that gets cut out.
One Strip! One Strip!I feel like with this discussion of good female characters, Future Mai isn't being mentioned enough. She was awesome and was able to survive against quite possibly the strongest non-Beerus antagonist in the series so far with nothing but a gun and determination.
On the topic of Dende and Videl, I can't think of a single moment where they ever interact and I think they only are ever even in the same location once. Any interaction between them would have to be painfully forced.

This song needs more love.Ohhh, God, I forgot about Videl being on the lookout during the Buu Saga. That's going to be painfully unfunny.
My various fanfics.Or it's going to be a big nothing...neutral syle.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. They apparently did it sometime during the time skip between Trunks first killing Frieza and the Android / Cell Saga.
Note that they appear to be the same approximate age as Current Trunks.
So it still could have happened.
One Strip! One Strip!I for one am looking forward to seeing Videl and Dende interact.
Something tells me he's not gonna be super-possessive of Gohan, though. Probably grill Videl to make sure she's nothing less than perfect for him, of course.
I'm also looking forward to seeing what they do about Videl "attacking" Gohan.
I know this is really late, but I'm still salty about what happened to Videl.
She was a really great and unique introduction to the Buu saga when she first appeared and she provided a really interesting perspective into the series.
And then she spent twenty minutes getting beaten to death by a man while everyone just watches in silence and then she gives up martial arts forever to become a housewife with hardly any screentime or lines at all.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseIt's a shitty thing.
And in the end, Videl doesn't even get the chance to get back at him for the beating. Hell, not even Gohan does, because the plot tossed him out since he was irrelevant.
So her beating served no real purpose.
Also, I'm still utterly baffled by how no one tried to stop the match. The fact that he wasn't actually cheating doesn't change the complete lack of class in his actions (especially once he pulled her back into the ring to continue the match). I mean, if he'd continued, he likely would have killed her, so you'd think they'd make an exception and just stop the fucking match.
One Strip! One Strip!I really hope so, because the alternative feels like it would get real annoying real fast.
Like how the obvious joke with Krillin and 18 would be having his relationship with her be just as miserable and disfunctional the rest of his life, but Abridged did something ultimately smarter and more interesting by having her legitimately like him and give the two unambiguously heartwarming moments (which is more than any other couple so far can say).
This is the same way. Instead of have Dende's entire response to Videl be more "I'm a dick! I'm obsessed with Gohan, so I'll be even more of a dick" they should do something different and have the characters grow a bit.

Videl getting the crud beaten out of her is probably one of her best moments. It's a very memorable one, and shows that she's comparable to the men. Until her, no woman had taken a beating like that onscreen; only the men. She's a fighter and she lost like a fighter, unlike, say Ranfan.
And every Dragonball character gets fucked over at some point for the sake of Goku saving the day. Not even your Xenoverse self-insert character is safe from him.

"If you weren't so crazy I'd think you were insane."It's Super that really dropped the ball with Videl. She wasn't shown being so bland before that.
Also, that entry that was being discussed (about Chichi learning subservience) is not only incredibly biased, but also talking about a filler arc.
Well debated my dude

Uh... not at all. Everyone comments on how much of a prick Spopovich is and even his own teammate tells him to knock it off. There is a line from Goku that Videl should just give up to stop it, but that's not blaming her and is a mere statement of fact.

Tere's a difference between "Quiet room" And "anechoic chamber"
The later's health risk are well studied. Stay long enough and people lose their balance. It's different than "A room with no noise" because a anechoic chamber prevents the noise YOU make from bouncing back to you.
Nasa uses anechoic chambers on astronauts because there's a real risk they might snap working in space.
