Musing on it, part of the reason Popo dunking Vegeta doesn't work as well as its setup did on its own is because it doesn't really follow through on the promise Popo made. Popo promised weird.
Assimilating Blue Popo was weird. Devouring Garlic Jr. was weird. Hitting Vegeta really hard? That's, like, the Tuesday of weirdness. Krillin's done that. Granted, it was Vegeta-assisted, but the point is that it's not that weird to punch the cast punching bag.
It's an uncreative follow-through to a threat that, left to the imagination, was perfectly chilling and that already provoked an appropriately funny reaction by statement alone.

I don't mind the joke really since popo is becoming less of a threat really. Sure he can knock vegeta and Goku off the tower, but they can just as easily get back up and I don't think he is doing any real damage now.
"Shall I use you, or make you mine... I'm not so sure what I'll do." - DorthyChi-Chi tried so hard to shape him... a little too hard. How else would Gohan be so zen under all that pressure - and now he's got a wife, a daughter, all the pressures of being a community college professor with bills to pay.
The day Gohan found that weird frog in his backyard changed everything. He kept it, put it in a jar, and never looked back. And being the good husband that he is, he let Videl try some too.
It's an absurd theory but it does explain why she's so mellow in Super.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!It was fine, not one of their best, but it was just a breather episode, and we're probably going to get like one or two more of those, I think.
I do wish they had kept in the Goku releasing his power bit, though.
And that's just your opinion, no need to get defensive about inoffensive statements.

Eh, I wouldn't call it mediocre. While it was a transition episode for all that such entails, it had some great jokes in it. I'd call it a fairly good episode with a couple harsh misses.
I wish they kept in Vegeta's emosplosion. The See-N-Saiyan bit is great, but the actual scene of Vegeta turning into a sobbing 12-year-old boy over the merest mention that Goku surpassed him again is funnier.

... because honestly, I'd call it bad... for DBZA. Which still puts it as most definitely "good" in terms of entertainment and "excellent" for an abridged series.
Seriously, TFS has a high standard. But for them, it was a relatively weak episode.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them. There is no metric by which "better" can be defined. As such, people are forced to default to aggregate opinion measurements such as review scores, box office totals, You Tube hits, etc. They may not be perfect, but they're a more accurate method of measuring fandom reaction than the nebulous concept of "better".
Opinions are like assholes. If you want to judge the success of a work, you have to find ways to count them. And sometimes they shit on you in the process.
