Chi Chi didn't know that Gohand died...so there.
But in a for serious manner of speaking, those that died were less Chi Chi's friends than they were to Blooma and if you're suggesting that Chi Chi grew stress lines because she cared about them dying...then that implies that Blooma cares less.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. So I was just re-watching Spopovitch vs Videl.
I'm curious as to the abridged crew will tackle it:
I since it's a canon part of the series, I don't think they'll cut it short for laughs like they usually do (so it won't be like Yamcha's non existent fight with the Saiba-man). In fact, I expect them to at least lampshade or even explain why Videl seemingly never tried to throw Spopovitch out of the ring once it became clear knocking him out wasn't an option.
Come to think about it, I'm wondering how they'll handle a lot of stuff in the Buu saga when they get there.
One Strip! One Strip!I was listening to Pikkon's dub theme
(because they're wrong, the dub score is great), looked at the picture, and thought: "what if Pikkon was Popo's super form..."
Well, you can only go in twice for one year periods each time unless you're strong enough to rip open the dimensional barrier, so it wasn't an option before Buu. A better question is why they only grow these things on Korin's tower when they should be planted everywhere you possibly can. Apart from the obvious use of recovering from injuries they'd also solve world hunger.
I mean, I think it's more that you have a maximum of 2 years and can divide that time up however you like.
Just go in, plant the beans, leave, check on them occasionally.
Also, when it was destroyed Popo/Dende was able to make a new entrance, so.
Alternatively: Have Bulma build some gardening robots.

Agriculture is hard. Even moreso in a pocket dimension devoid of sunlight, nutrient-rich soil, or a naturally reoccurring water supply that isn't in the form of a magic restocking fridge. And ESPECIALLY when you plan to leave your crops unattended for years at a time.
EDIT: And let's not forget the plants would have to endure 10x gravity and a hostile environment that flashes extreme temperatures to murder everyone within. The RoSaT is not conducive to gardening.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.I didn't think the 10X gravity started until you left the platform house thingy with the giant hourglass.
Like, the pressure and heat get higher and higher the further out you go but it just suddenly. Changes from 1X normal gravity on one side of the tile, and then to 10X on the other. Is the way I thought it was presented.
Also, sunlamps exist.

Between Bulma's science and Piccolo and Buu's magic, they could probably work out some alternative. Unfortunately, Reed Richards Is Useless.
Maybe the beans need actually sunlight as opposed to anything artificial.
Or, we could just use my usual answer:
Toriyama didn't think of it.
As for the two year rule, didn't Goku and Vegeta spend three years just before the tournament against Universe 6 (I finally remembered! Huzzah!)?
It's either been reset after the lookout was destroyed in the Buu saga, is being ignored, or has been changed by Dende.
Agreed.

One Strip! One Strip!Fair enough.
As for what Dr. Briefs, has done, I'll give him credit for that, but to be honest, with all the alien tech he's studied, both he and his daughter could be doing a lot more to make the earth prepared for the next inevitable alien invasion.
Hell, Dr. Gero could have as well if he hadn't have been so hell bent on just killing Goku and all. He made two street punks more powerful than the most powerful being in the universe, and he barely knew anything about Frieza beyond the fact that he should up and got killed by Trunks.
Bulma really should have flown to Gero's lab, looted it of everything important, let Krillin and Trunk blow up Cell, and then spent the rest of her life (with her father's help) studying everything Gero created in order to make....
<Ducks a brick>
Right. Y'all know what I'm going to say, so I'll stop there. But as a final word, the earth needs protectors who won't allow the villains to finish preparing in three years so they can get a good fight, or drag out a battle to make it more interesting....or refuse to work together because they are too proud.... or throw away earrings that let them fuse into the most powerful being on the planet because they don't like it...or other bullshit Goku and Vegeta have done, which have resulted in the world being destroyed twice.
One Strip! One Strip!Speaking of Dr. Gero, I was rereading a bit of the manga the other day and I guess Gero making each Android weaker and weaker does kinda make sense. If making them weaker was the only way to make it certain you could control them you'd want to go for it since having wildcards who could blow up the planet whenever they felt like it running around is a bad idea.

I thought that comment was more about Chi-Chi in general. In everything past Namek, Chi-Chi tends to "look" older than Bulma - though it's more because the way she dresses and wears her hair, and her facial expressions (and how her face is drawn in general, arguably).
