Gonna make the moment when Gohan wrecks his shit even better.
I figure Gohan is either gonna have him talk to his fist, or give him a very nasty Shut Up, Hannibal!.
On a different note, Gohan seems to be regaining respect for his dad as this goes on.
I'm really hoping they surprise us and have Goku actually tell him his plan instead of being totally faithful to the original plot.
One Strip! One Strip!"Huh, didn't go for that that, eh? That's fine - I'll take far more satisfaction slowly draining the life out of you. Say 'ah!'"
Oh God! Natural light!Perhaps Cell will do to Goku what Goku does to everyone else.
A nice little reversal of the situation that makes Goku actually apologize for being himself, since now he knows how the rest of them feel.
One Strip! One Strip!I honestly don't see Cell getting under Goku's skin until he starts giving Gohan a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown.
As for how TFS will handle Goku deciding to stay dead, I can actually see it being close to how it was in the original; Goku decides to stay dead to keep earth from being a target, only this time he specifically mentions the best thing he can do as a father is to finally let Gohan live a normal life.

Man, that was great.
@Rob: The song is a remixed version of Hikari no Willpower. It's Trunks's theme in some of the videogames. It even has a vocal version!
I really enjoyed that, and Trunks's characterisation. Cell was really riling him up, and, honestly, Trunks reactions were...badass. We haven't seen Future Trunks act badass since the moment he sliced Freeza in half. Also the whole idea about how his past failures are weighing on him. "Does Gohan know...that you let him die?" Loved that line, and wished the series explored that.
KOC and the peanut gallery were also great. Although I'm glad Goku and Gohan are going to come out next episode. They've been training there for AGES, and nothing much has come out of it. Except a bit of character development, I guess.
I honestly feel like SSJ 2 Gohan is going to be really similar to canon. No badass one-liners, no flashy poses, just a kid beating Cell up and not even bothering to show off about it. And that'd piss off Cell even more - being beaten by someone who doesn't even seem to care about looking cool. At least with Vegeta, Cell knows how to play him.
The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby!![]()
That's actually going to veer close to Tear Jerker territory all things considered in this context.
Alright, it's official - Cell is DBZA's best villain.
And that's actually a pretty high bar to clear.

Oh God! Natural light! He was great in his Imperfect and Semi-Perfect forms, but now that his creepy obsession with finding the Androids has passed, he's left with this great apathy and self-amusement about him that's just, well, perfect.
And Taka's nailed absolutely every line.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!

Cell really does always know what to say doesn't he.
