What's the problem with changing the source material on one of the movies?
It's not like they matter, really...and there was a neat joke out of it.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice. For anyone who doesn't know, in the original Dr. Wheelo wants to use a heat laser to scorch the planet's atmosphere.
Funnily enough, in DBZA, Turtle is like 3 times older than Roshi while in canon, Roshi raised him from birth.
I liked the black comedy of Yamcha showing up to help, only to be exploded and than completely forgotten about by everyone else, as well as Blub-Blub crying in terror as he dies.
Well, I'm sure part of it is because they already abridged it before. They decided to go in a different direction instead of just remastering their previous version.
I still love the fact that Kochin has a gatling gun arm, even if it doesn't do him much good. It's just so out-of-nowhere, especially since sophisticated cybernetics like Gero's later creations hadn't been introduced yet.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! They changed Roshi's age in Abridged?
Or Turtle's age?

They might haps just taken that from the Dub, or just actually did take it from the Funimation Dub.
The ending's not great. Goku throws the world's slowest Spirit Bomb and Wheelo explodes. Personally, I don't think the original movie's as good as some people say it is; the new character designs are atrocious, the color pallet is way too dark and ugly, Roshi fighting again is neat but the original Dragon Ball has plenty of that, Krillin is somehow even more useless than usual in the movies, Piccolo doesn't do anything whatsoever and the movie would be exactly the same without him, Wheelo's mech character design makes me want to claw my eyes out, and Wheelo's evil plan is extremely generic and boring.

I think it might be the most nonsensical in terms of timeline.
Dead Zone would make sense as being pre-Raditz post-Tournament if not for Krillin being there.
I literally don't understand when World's Strongest is meant to be.
Gohan has trained with Piccolo but is at home with Chichi and Goku's alive and still using Kaioken and Spirit Bomb.
There is no point in the series where all of those things are true.
Which isn't a criticism, but. Still kinda weird?
TFS tries to make the movies fit in that canon crevice, but they really, really can't do it here.

The issue (that they make fun of in the abridged series) is that in canon, the Spirit Bomb almost never is what actually finishes the foe.
