In Toriyama's adaptation in the manga, yeah.
At the very least in History of Trunks' case, anime >>> manga.
"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerNot that I remember.
I think the show actually pointed out how not-dangerous they were when it had Trunks go on about how they're the greatest threat to humanity, and then it shows Vegeta killing many innocent drivers while trying to hit 18 in their "fight".
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseNot to mention we never see fture Gohan's Super Saiyan transformation in either version. The anime special has Gohan talk about rage and whatnot but it's still the first time we ever see him have the form and he just transforms without it being dwelt on.
The anime special wins out because it was extended into a proper story, with an ongoing storyline that it developed. The manga version was a single chapter that just showed what Trunks' history was like, practically a cliff notes version.
I still prefer the manga not dramatising Trunks' Super Saiyan transformation. It fits better with the rest of the series.
Trunks' Super Saiyan plot works well for that movie when looking at an individual product but not in comparison with the rest of the series.
Even Goku's original transformation wasn't that special - he never specifically worked for it, and it mostly just came down to circumstance.
And making Super Saiyan out to be something much more grandoise than it is just creates future problems. Actually, I'm now wondering if Toei still held onto that ideal and that's why they didn't make Pan a Super Saiyan in GT.
No. There was only one guy killed by Vegeta in the manga (the truck driver) and he never got wished back.

It's how it happened in the anime. Though in the anime, Gohan was the one who requested Goku goes all out, but given the Foreshadow at the end of the Super Saiyan song, it sounds like they are going to have Goku do it against Gohan's will.
The context is that the two women there can do a Fusion Dance to become a single, more powerful, bigger woman. Which, yes, is a Dragon Ball reference (Steven Universe likes its references).

I'd be alright if they had Gohan's father issues make him go Super Saiyan. Mostly because then that plot point can be resolved and they can make the Cell fight stick closer to canon.
The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby!
