I don't know, I got a laugh at how Videl got exposed Gohan as the great Saiyaman in the Manga by just asking him about Homework.
Beyond that, I agree with you about how the Saiyaman Anime filler was more interesting. Toriyama must have really tired of it quickly. I wonder if that's when he first started thinking he'd swap out Gohan for Goku, even if it took longer to implement in the series.
One Strip! One Strip!I USED to like the Saiyaman filler but on rewatching it, it kind of feels like most of the episodes missed the joke.
And it sucks that they treated Videl learning his identity as a multi episode, serious subplot when she immediately figured it out in the manga. Hilarious joke, totally butchered.
Anyway, on Super's movie mulligan: I don't think it has any positive effect for fans trying to get into it. Even if you need to see the movies first, those could have been aired on TV (and BoG has aired on TV before, there's no problem doing so). It would take far less time to do that then have fans sit through 24 episodes of really poor adaptations of both movies.
I wonder if this really is stalling for time while they try to work out the outline for Universe 6. I mean, they don't have a manga to look over. GT often felt like they were just throwing out ideas because they didn't know where they were going.
That doesn't mean the animation will be better in Universe 6. But it might (hopefully) mean the story is better.
The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby!In Western media, sometimes movies are used to begin or end cartoons. These movies are then cut into pieces and then spliced into the show as multi-part episodes.
Dragon Ball Super would have benefitted immensely from doing that instead of adapting them.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Pretty sure that's been done by anime, too.
But yeah, just cutting the movie into episodes would've been better. And that's sad. Because readapting and expanding it should improve it, not make it worse.
Random question... is it just me or is are DBZ fans disproportionately black? This is entirely anecdotal, of course, but I see more black people wearing DBZ clothes than anyone else, and when I'm watching DBZ Abridged in public, on multiple occasions black dudes have commented on it.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them. Not necessarily. This is on par with the rest of Toei's attempts at expanding the Dragon Ball canon. If there's one thing I've learned about Toei, it's that they don't even try to make their adjustments to the canon work.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.As a black DBZ fan, yeah I can attest to that lol. I can't say why specifically, but it just is.
Back in the 90s, there was even a fansite called "Da Black Goku.

Also black. Didn't know it seemed Black people watch more DBZ.
There was once a reaction video with a few Black Man laughing hilariously at Bulma's failed attempt to convince Goku to give her the Dragonball by offering to show him her panties. T'was pretty funny. Maybe that had something to do with it.
One Strip! One Strip!![]()
Yeah. That's the one.
You know, that's also probably a little sexist. Now I kinda feel bad.
One Strip! One Strip!Kaiser also states that if they hit 2 million subscribers on youtube, they will finally do a World's Strongest Abridged.
DBZ reaction images are also a staple of black twitter.
I'm torn about a new Worlds Strongest Abridged. On one hand, the original holds up just fine. On the other... hey, why not? It is my favorite of the DBZ movies.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them. Those first two films they made before they became Team Four Star were really lacking in the sound department. You'd have fight scenes where there were just people talking and a few sound effects with no music or anything. Even the early episodes of the actual series had a musical score and they hold up much better because of it.
I'm excited for when they do World's Strongest Abridged. The only problem is I REALLY want them to continue the story. I mean...they've hinted Perfect Cell is going to show up in Episode 51! They're getting to the part of the story I really, really like!
Between that and Hellsing, it looks like we'll be waiting a while for Episode 52.
The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby! You know, I'm surprised that Bo G was their favorite movie.
Like, I like it a lot, and I know they like it a lot, but I didn't know it was going to be their favorite.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone else

I honestly think it's better with the Filler.
Which isn't a comment about the manga or Kai and more about how much I love the Great Saiyaman filler.
As a manga purist and filler hater, I agree with you. Great Saiyaman adventures was the only anime stuff that I missed from the manga.
