Also, so that's where the name of that one Xenoverse PQ came from.

I mean, does the first Broly movie actually have anything going for it?

That sweet wangsty-ass theme.

But seriously, quite a bit of the really cool Z themes actually originate from the Super 13 and Broly movies. So there's that.

Okay, so just for reference, here's all the ones not covered yet:

Dragon Ball:
  • Curse of the Blood Rubies (1986)
  • Sleeping Princess in Devil's Castle (1987)
  • Mystical Adventure (1988)
  • The Path to Power (1996)
Z Movies:
  • Dead Zone (1989)
  • The World's Strongest (1990)
  • Tree of Might (1990)
  • Lord Slug (1991)
  • Cooler's Revenge (1991)
  • Return of Cooler (1992)
  • Super Android 13 (1992)
  • Broly, the Legendary Super Saiyan (1993)
  • Bojack Unbound (1993)
  • Broly: Second Coming (1994)
  • Bio-Broly (1994)
  • Fusion Reborn (1995)
  • Wrath of the Dragon (1995)
  • Battle of Gods (2013)
  • Resurrection F (2015)
Z Specials:
  • Bardock: The Father of Goku (1990)
  • Plan to Eradicate the (Super) Saiyans (1993/2010)
  • The History of Trunks (1993)
  • Yo! Son Goku & Friends Return! (2008)
  • Episode of Bardock (2011)

I'm going to take a few wild guesses;

History of Trunks will probably be #1. Bardock will probably be somewhere up there. World's Strongest will probably be in the top five as well, as Kaiser already said how much he loved that one.

Yo! Son Goku, Battle of Gods, Android 13, and Cooler 1 will probably be somewhere around the middle.

I expect both Cooler 2 and Dead Zone within a few days, and honestly, Resurrection F not too long after.

[up]I actually really like Dead Zone. It was the best animated of the Pre-Battle of Gods movies and had some pretty good choreographed fights.

I'd say it's Bojack that will probably rank alongside Cooler 2 with the Broly movies.

They specifically mentioned interesting visuals as something that'd bump entries up a few places, and Dead Zone has plenty of that

I'm expecting Bojack to appear in the top ten with Tree of Might.

Yeah, for fitting with the series, it's cool that it shows an otherwise undepicted time period.

I guess my thing is I found it largely boring. Bojack and his crew had cool designs, but that was about all I liked.

So how would everyone rank the movies themeselves?

Wrath of the Dragon is pretty cool.

Fusion Reborn was pretty awesome. Janemba was a cool villain, if only for how crazy his powers were.

Plus, Goku going Super Saiyan 3 and managing to kick Janemba's ass in an incredibly brutal fashion was badass. As was Gogeta being formed to kick ass.

How would I rank them?

Well, in no particular order within each tier:

  • Loved-them tier: Tree of Might, History of Trunks, Fusion Reborn
  • Enjoyed-them-a-lot tier: Broly 1, Bojack, Wrath of the Dragon, Bardock 1
  • Enjoyed-them-a-bit tier: Cooler 1, Cooler 2, Bio-Broly, Dead Zone
  • Just-okay tier: Broly 2, Lord Slug, Plan to Eradicate, World's Strongest, Android 13
  • Hated-them tier: Yo! Son Goku, Episode of Bardock
  • Haven't-actually-seen-them-yet tier: Battle of Gods, Resurrection F, any of the original Dragon Ball specials, Hero's Legacy (which I'm counting)

I feel like Battle of Gods will be near the top. Kaiser at least has mentioned about how much he loves that movie.

Battle of Gods was awesome. And funny, really funny. The scenes with Emperor Pilaf and his gang made me laugh my ass off.

And Vegeta sang karaoke in order to make sure Beerus didn't get pissed off and destroy shit. That was so cringey but at the same time so funny.

That happened, ladies and gentlemen. Vegeta literally sang a song about bingo to make sure Beerus wouldn't destroy the planet.

Guess Saiyan pride doesn't really amount to jack shit anymore, now does it?

[up] Nope. And it keeps getting worth less.

In Super he basically throws his dignity (or at least, do what Vegeta himself would consider demeaning) under a bus repeatedly so he can train under Whis.

Toriyama's really slipping in characterization, it seems.

Then again Beerus can kick pretty much anyone's ass without a second thought so it's not that much of a hit to Vegeta's pride to grovel.

The best joke of the series is how Goku gets Whis to let him do it just by asking, but nobody draws attention to it.

[up][up][up] It makes sense in context. Vegeta is trying to make sure Beerus doesn't get pissed off or else he'll lose his cool and destroy the planet.

Characterization wise, Vegeta has gone through a bit of a change in recent years - he's more of a Comically Serious Grumpy Bear. Him getting flustered or into embarrassing situations is a lot more common now.
