Best explanation I can think of is that being married to Goku killed whatever interest she had left in fighting.
Did she ever say she hated martial arts? I mean, she was always all about Gohan studying, but that may just be because she wants Gohan to be a scholar instead of a bum like his dad. And she mentions not wanting Gohan to fight, but that could just be her maternal instinct making her overprotective.
In the first Broly movie Vegeta is temporarily crowned king of a bunch of people and its suggested he's going to rule over them as prince. Does Vegeta have any skill whatsoever as a monarch? Like would he not know what to do? Because he's never ruled anybody before. What if he doesn't know how to monarch? And by a similar token, who runs Capsule Corp? I've never seen Bulma or her dad do anything businesslike, they just invent crap. Although in GT I recall Trunks escaping from a meeting by flying. Would he know how to run a company? What if he's terrible at it?
I know one theory that's floated around is that Goku almost getting killed by Piccolo may have turned her off of Martial Arts.
Personally, I'm going to just chalk it up to Toriyama finding the "Nagging Wife" shtick funny.

This is my belief as well. I don't think he puts as much thought into his female characters as he does most other characters.
I mean, re-call the first female martial artist in the series fought by stripping.
That doesn't mean he can't create great female characters, but I don't think he puts much thought into them.
One Strip! One Strip!I guarantee you it's not what you're expecting.
"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerI actually went to look for reasons why anyone liked the movie, and these are what I found
- It really satires the Broly character perfectly and quite literally, turns him into what he is.
- It puts the spotlight on some secondary characters.
- Gotenks wasn't in it. (Basically, Goten and Trunks have never really fought someone, and for once they got to.)
- We get to see Kuririn, Eighteen, and Mr. Satan all play major roles.
- A side plot based on 18 getting her money from Hercule is actually better than the typical 'I will rule the universe' theme the other movies have.
- The ONLY one out of all 15 DBZ movies where Goku doesn't jump in and save everyone in some way, or even help. He just has his little cameo at the very end.

Yeah, every single one of those is why I like Bio-Broly.
Even if it was kind of boring, all of those reasons make it better than average IMO.
Wait, what do you mean it turns him into what he is?
A few things.
Very few of those things being related to Broly.

what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseSpeaking of which, it's almost time to abridge the first Broly movie. A lot of people agree that it takes place within the ten day wait before the Cell Games, and that's not far away.
I honestly can't wait to see what TFS does with him.

"It's liberating, realizing you never need to be competent." — UltimatepheerAsura is pretty much Broly done right, and truly epitomizes Sun Wukong in the way that Broly was supposed to (The bad temper aspect of said character).
Watch SymphogearYou know, this DB Cember is a cool idea, but so far, I kind of prefer last year's. Since it didn't have a limited number of items effectively making it a worst-to-best list, there was a lot more mirth from the start.
I have a message from another time...I see your point, but then again, I've also wondered how the movies rank on their favorites list.
Also, I like how they keep going "HA, you thought Bio-Broly was going to be in this spot!"

I mean, nobody at that tournament except Piccolo could keep up with Goku at that point.
Yeah Goku dodged everything she threw at him but the same would probably be true of Yamcha or Krillin.
...What I still don't get is why Chichi ends up hating martial arts.
Like, she's a princess because her dad learned how to beat people up. Like how most monarchies get started. Except the cop-outs that used magical wishes.
She met Goku because he liked beating people up. And learning martial arts techniques things.
I can understand wanting Gohan to get an education, and I can understand her not wanting him to fight deadly aliens.
But the fact that she seemingly doesn't like martial arts in and of themselves is weird and bizarre and I hate it.
