@Adric De Psycho: Mr. Satan became "Hércules" (since it was the French version that originally gave him the name "Hércule" in the first place).
And yeah, the first Piccolo was called "Little Heart of Satan" for that reason, with actors shortening it to "Satan" as time went by. Similarly, Kami was called various things at first, before they permanently settled on "The Almighty".
The "Space Warriors" thing makes me think it's the European French, rather than the Canadian. Maybe it went Japanese -> European French -> That version was released in Quebec -> Canadian English team picked it up -> Went to the UK
Maybe the team responsible for the Big Green dub was mainly made of Francophones from Canada? If English was not their first language, it would explain a lot.

People make reaction videos of everything nowadays. Do people do reactions of this, without being aware of the source? Because that sounds funny as shit.
And I don't remember the dub all that well, but the way they handled Cell stroking Vegeta's ego like that was great.
There is one like that...though it's a trio dynamic of, Someone who has seen both, one who only watched the anime, and one who has seen neither.
Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I watched Abridged before watching DBZ...up until Episode 38 or so. I can't remember all of my reactions, though. And there were things I still knew, like Krillin's death making Goku go Super Saiyan, and stuff like that.
The problem was I ended up going to their page on this site and immediately not caring about looking through spoiler tags.
The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby!I'm disappointed that they didn't even have one line about the unbridled arrogance of Vegeta calling himself "Super" Vegeta.
My various fanfics. There's always next episode. We've got a bit of time before Vegeta gets his ass kicked.
The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby!My opinion:
Dragon Ball Manga >= Dragon Ball Super Manga > Dragon Ball Z Abridged > Dragon Ball Anime > Dragon Ball Super Anime = Dragon Ball Z Anime
although even my least favorite are above-average.

and
Wow. That worked out really well. Good thing
had a Piccolo avatar eh?
Anyway, finally watched Resurrection F as I mentioned on the main thread.
I look forward to both the Super version of Vegeta vs Frieza and the Abridged version. The former cause they might extend it and add some extra stuff, and the latter because you know they'll be call backs to the Abridged version of their fight on Namek. If you guys thought Vegeta was great against Semi-Perfect Cell, wait until you see him fight against someone he legitimately wants to kill.
One Strip! One Strip!By the way, the newest episode of Super improves it to = Dragon Ball Anime, in my opinion.
More Dumplin
and stream highlights.

Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Team Four Star isn't really allowed to abridge the new movies or Super I imagine. Plus I don't think the'll go any farther than the Buu Saga anyway.
Why wouldn't they be? Everything they've done thus far is protected under Fair Use as a consequence of being a parody series. Why would Super or the new movies be any different?
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.I think the last time this discussion came up, someone said Funimation asked Team Four Star not to abridge the new movies.
Having a valid legal defense absolutely means they can do something that might sour their relationship with the copyright holders.
The only thing up for debate is whether or not they should. The fact that some of them have started getting actual voicework with the dubbing of new Dragon Ball products is a fairly good argument for not rocking the boat.

I thought the Big Green dub was Canadian, and the mangled translation was because they went Japanese -> French Canadian -> English Canadian?
On a similar note, the Malaysian English dub is even worse, though not quite as memetically silly.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!
