Ehhh....well...uhhh....
I'm trying to be hopeful that he's going to do something. He just needs a new arc. He's no longer "Goku's future successor". And he's surpassed Goku's power twice.
Does anyone have ideas of what to do with him?
The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby!
Being a mentor to the young'uns would be good for him. He already taught Videl, Goten and Future Trunks, why not Pan and others in the future? I know this might not be the direction they want for him, but it would be the best they could do with him, maybe part of a personal arc post-ROF.
Also, personally, I would explain Gohan being powered down by a hidden injury of sorts. I dunno exactly what, maybe something psychological or ki-related that he wants to keep secret. I mean, it would be different, at least.
Oh that's going a bit too far.
Toriyama's aversion to female characters doing things is stronger than his aversion to not-Gokus in general doing things.
I have a message from another time...
Well, everyone gets screwed regardless of Gender if they are not Goku or Vegeta, so what does it matter.
......but yeah, considering the bullshit with Super Saiyan Pan still not existing, when young Gohan got a SSJ 3 form in Heroes (or was it Xenoverse), I can agree that females are more likely to get short-changed.....
.....but that happens in a lot of fighting series. Not just DBZ.
One Strip! One Strip!Don't worry. If they do, her version of Super Saiyan will be revealed to only last 10 seconds, and she can't overcome that limit cause she's a girl.
One Strip! One Strip! One other thing that bugged me was how they acted towards Freeza. In every other instance when Freeza was brought up after his death, (Goku and Pikon meeting him in otherworld, Fusion Reborn movie, that one arc in GT,) Freeza was treated as a joke by all the characters who could easily beat him, which is like half a dozen people. I know none of those instances are canon, but they could still beat down Freezza without breaking a sweat. Now I know that Freeza trained and got stronger, but no-one on earth could have known that, and they all acted like he was super strong even when he was in his first form. They wouldn't have been able to sense how strong his gold form was, since they were constantly surprised by his power on Namek, but even Gohan and Piccolo acted like they would lose to Freeza's first form. It's maddening.
The second Freeza arrived, they could sense how powerful he's gotten, this is pointed out when Gohan tells Bulma to leave as Freeza is much stronger now and no-one who can sense Ki reacts any differently than when he first arrived.
Also, can I just say how blatantly obvious it is that Toriyama has had this idea on the back-burner for a LONG time? Because this story could literally take place any time after Vegeta got Super Saiyan 1(assuming that it might replace some Sagas or events).

After everything Freeza put Vegeta through for his whole life I was glad when it was Vegeta who finally got some comeuppance. At the start of the film I thought maybe Freeza would have run into Trunks and but two and two together, but that never panned out.
Still though, no-one has ever been able to sense how strong a person will be after their transformation. Look at Zarbon, every form of Freeza's on Namek, Cell, Majin Buu, every time someone goes Super Saiyan. The power level they sense before a transformation is completely different from the power level they sense after the transformation. Except in this movie where they can apparently tell how strong Freeza's gold form will be when he's still in his first form.
Actually, considering that one punch from First Form Freeza almost killed a perfectly healthy base Gohan, I actually believe that they were talking about First Form Freeza as being stronger than all of them. I don't particularly like First Form Freeza being stronger than all of them but that is what's being presented.

My only problem with the Vegeta part of the fight (what little I've seen of it) is that after all the shit Frieza put him through, Vegeta didn't get an opportunity to flat out kill Frieza. Frieza stole that from him by first rage quitting hard enough to destroy the entire planet, and then because Goku has to Kill Steal to avoid that disaster.
I mean, I guess once he knows what really happened, he'd be ok with it (as ok as you can be) but for him, it must be frustrating to not get the chance to end Frieza with his own hands.
One Strip! One Strip!Vegeta was basically the audience at that point - expecting something different, only to have it taken away by bullshit at the last minute.
I mean, it was great Vegeta was GOING to get the kill, but still. I wish they had gone all the way. But they've gotta keep the formula!! *sigh*

Those certainly are some numbers.
