Basically, I've noticed I prefer it when TFS isn't overly mean-spirited with their characters. They've even been treating Krillin with more respect from Season 3 onwards.
Perhaps that's why we're all annoyed at the Goku hate. Because I don't enjoy Adaptational Villainy that much.
The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby! Also, in doing so, he put Gohan, the only one he liked in danger as well, since Gohan is also from Earth.
I'm actually hoping the first thing they do is have Krillin finally call him Dende and apologize for screwing up his name previously, just to screw with the latter's head.
One Strip! One Strip! Also, Krillin's looks like an albino namekian, who they believed were responsible for their near extinction up til that point.
This shall be my true, Start of Darkness
x2 If anything, I expect Krillin to call him Little Green, only for Dende to finally snap and yell at him that his name is Dended, only for Popo to interrupt and start calling him "Little Green" as well.
Oh, I'm SURE Kaiser's headcanon is founded in reality and the portrayal of the characters in the original work, and has nothing to do at all with how they portray Goku. TOTAL CONFIDENCE.
My various fanfics.What's Kaiser's headcanon?
I'm fine with the way they're playing Goku in the Cell Saga. This arc and the next are where his poor decision-making and needless boneheaded mistakes really start to ramp up. Vegeta's getting the same treatment, becoming even more boneheadedly aggressive and childish in comparison to his Namek arc self.
In the Namek arc, Vegeta knew to be afraid of Frieza and went out of his way to avoid his attention, even freaking out and panicking when he realized the Ginyus were coming. He was aggressive but he also knew his relative position in the power scale and went out of his way not to draw the ire of foes he knew he couldn't beat, only getting suicidally overconfident when his back was against the wall and there was nothing else he could do. He sought immortality because even though it was cheap, it was the only way he could prevail against Frieza. Winning was more important than doing it stylishly.
In the Cell arc, he deliberately picks a fight with the Androids despite knowing that they murdered him in the other timeline, just 'cause. Then he allows Cell to achieve his Perfect Form because he wants to beat him when he's at his strongest. He refused to acknowledge so much as the possibility that they could be stronger than him.
In the Buu arc, Vegeta ragequits the plot to fight Goku instead, deliberately helping revive Majin Buu because he just assumes Buu will be powerless compared to himself and Goku and that his rematch with Goku is the most important priority.
In the Namek arc, Goku allows Frieza to achieve his 100% Full Power. This is not as boneheaded as it looks, because Goku can sense ki and Frieza has kindly been providing a running tally on where his power is at a given moment. 10%, 50%, 70%, etc. He can easily estimate where Frieza's 100% is and knows it won't be enough. True to form, Even Full Power Frieza is powerless against Super Saiyan Goku.
In the Cell arc, Goku gives Cell a Senzu so that he can come at Gohan from full strength. He sets him up to fight his son and makes sure it is as hard as possible for Gohan to handle. One might argue the same thing that he did with Frieza: he knew how powerful Cell was and that Gohan could handle it. Even so, he fails to take Gohan's personality into account, and so this very nearly blows up in his face.
In the Buu arc, Goku refrains from destroying Majin Buu in his Super Saiyan 3 form because he wants the children to do it. He allows Buu to continue terrorizing the planet in the hopes that his and Vegeta's youngest sons can destroy the god-killing abomination in his place. This actually does blow up in his face because of course it does.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.To be fair to Goku in regards to Gohan and Cell, Gohan was only afraid that he'd lose control and accidentally destroy the Earth which he could easily do. What Piccolo says to Goku is, by and large, completely wrong. Gohan wasn't afraid of Cell or didn't dislike fighting. Gohan's probably is a perfectly understandable one that Goku then helps deal with once he understands it. Android 16 only manages to make Gohan transform because he managed to convince him that it'll be fine if he goes all out in order to protect the world.

Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. Check out my art if you notice.I get the feeling that, considering the comedy, Goku takes Dende against his will and Popo forces him to become the Guardian of Earth.

The reason for it is because they're both voiced by the same person. It's a fourth wall gag.
