Or, for the joke, "OH, THANKS A LOT DAD! WAY TO FUCKING DIE SAVING MY LIFE YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE! I HATE YOU! GOKU IS THE WORST CHARACTER EVER!"
My various fanfics. The more I think about it, the more it HAS to be resolved before the Cell Games. Otherwise, not only is addressing it too obvious, but it would be getting REALLY old by that point.
But then there's Piccolo's What the Hell, Hero? speech to Goku, so...

The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby!Episode 55 or whenever the Gohan/Cell fight starts: Literally every character tells Goku he's a shitty father.
My various fanfics.I honestly don't see what the problem is. Gohan is a kid who has been traumatized by all the things that's happened to him up till now and it's left him bitter. Not to mention Death Is a Slap on the Wrist which likely doesn't help his mood at all.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession. The problem is that nobody contests Gohan. If he were speaking from trauma it should be framed to show that he's not in the right mind.
And he has no problem with Piccolo who is more responsible for his early trauma.
edit: hell, in the Abridged version Goku died because Piccolo tricked him.

Does anyone believe for a second that Goku would have subjected Gohan to the same hellish training Piccolo made him endure? It would have been serious, but he wouldn't strand a toddler in the wilderness to die and run from dinosaurs.
My various fanfics.I think Gohan has come to see Piccolo being the father figure because he was there, even if he put him through a lot of that early trauma. Plus Piccolos death was him jumping in the way to take the attack that would hit Gohan, while Goku was instead keeping Radditz trapped so Piccolo can kill him and Gohan was knocked out during it. So the deaths naturally weigh differently on him. Seeing and hearing Piccolos death had a way bigger influence.
It kinda gives me vibes of Stockholm Syndrome.
Also Icarus kept dying and Goku even ate him once!
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.
Well, that was Piccolo's opinion. He did say Goku was too soft.
But...
...oh god and once they get out of the HTC Gohan is going to ask for Piccolo's outfit oh god they really ARE going to milk this subplot.
The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby!If I recall in the Buu Saga doesn't Goku also have them leave Gohan and the others on earth as Kid Buu destroys it as well while only saving Mr. Satan?
It's been awhile since I watched the Buu saga.
I could see this finally culminating in Gohan fully believing he was right all along if I'm remembering correctly.

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession. The problem is the jokes are always a little mean-spirited. And they're not always justified. But Gohan's issues have gotten a LOT worse over the last few episodes. Ever since History of Trunks, I'd say.
If he's going to stay this resentful, it's going to be hard to watch.
The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby! He's a kid and honestly I don't think he's wrong to feel that way being a traumatized child. Even Future Trunks in Abridged had a more normal life until he decided to personally try to fight the androids and Future Gohan decided to teach him the way Picollo taught him. Along with the whole Hearing Voices and Sanity Slippage he had.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.I'm fine with Gohan's aggression towards his father, because I'm pretty sure they'll resolve it well. He's already admitted back with Ginyu that he has issues.
The thing that bugs me is that they've continued the whole "Goku doesn't care about Gohan" thing at a bunch of strange and mean-spirited times, such as with "let's go drive cars again", or "hey" to Gohan while others get warmer greetings, etc.
Frankly, I kinda like what they are doing with Gohan and Goku. Particularly, I like the progression. Initially, he didn't have much of an issue. But it started to get worse and worse, as the plot keep happening and ensuring Goku is never present as a normal dad. It showed Gohan clearly developing his issues, to the point it stopped being something reasonable and more of an actual psychological problem. I don't think the idea is that Goku is entirely at fault, but, nonetheless, Gohan developed a problem and is hurt by it.
If Goku is guilty of something, is of not being able to recognize the problem. Regardless of who is to blame, Gohan have issues, but Goku is completely blind to it. He thinks everything is normal and act as such. Gohan just wanted his father were more present and did something other than training/fighting. That is not actually possible, but Goku failed to emphasize with the problem and genuinely think everything is peachy. It is really tragic when you think about it.

I have a feeling Gohan is going to unlock Super Saiyan by finally reaching a breakthrough with Goku. And also by no longer needing an adult, because he can take care of himself.
This would be similar to how Vegeta reached it after having a breakthrough about his own inadequacies. Goku, Mr. Gohan and future Trunks all got it via loss, but we know there has to be another way, because Vegeta, Gohan, and likely Goten and Kid Trunks didn't have to lose anyone to get it.

Most likely plotline is time chamber making Gohan's realtionship with Goku worse, and the "Gohan despises Goku" getting more and more extreme until Goku's death, at which point it's going to add to Gohan's My God, What Have I Done? reaction.
