I tend to like audio let's plays with people that have good chemistry with each other. I tend to have a smaller number of solo let's plays I enjoy. There's some, but. Not most of the time.
...Good editing is also important for me.
Like, showing off different features of an action game, like a certain attack that an enemy doesn't use very often; and then showing how to get a good or perfect ranking on a certain fight.
Making a montage of all sorts of goofy shit you can do in a certain open world game.
Or using the editing to tell a story of its own.
There are some Let's Plays I actually use while I'm playing or replaying a game on my own, to help me with some tips and tricks of things.
This is true.
Let's Plays are about commentary.
That commentary does not have to be audio in nature.
EDIT: Also, I've noticed that sometimes developers have gotten involved in playthroughs of things, and that's really interesting to me.
EDIT: I think one issue is also defining L Ps because.
Like, there's "Blind" L Ps, where a game is experienced for the very first time. And that can work.
There's Let's Plays where the video is recorded ahead of time, and then the commentary is laid over it.
And there's Let's Plays where one person has never seen it before and another person is showing it off. I tend to like those a fair bit.
And there's something charming about people just gushing about something they love. Like, that's half the reason I liked TFS's Star Wars month Let's Plays. And some aspects of their DBZ let's plays.
That and their clashing personalities as they got competitive. They're good at the banter.
And because them dancing is like the perfect punchline.

I don't know what you're talking about and am finding out now. In the mean time, I think that's how Goku pronounces HFIL which stands for "Home For Infinite Losers" which is what the original American dub of Dragon Ball Z called Hell.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!
I know all that. I've watched every episode and basically follow their work religiously. I mean, seriously, have you not seen me post in this thread dozens of times?
Now I remember! It's at the end of the credits.

I was going to add the arrows, but I guess there's no point now.
The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby!Don't worry about it. I'm just diverting the conversation from that guy on kaiser's tumblr.
Because he has a point, even if he wasn't that polite in delivering it, and I don't wish to see that point misrepresented.
The fact that they're getting actual money now (over 12K a month) means they can be held to a higher standard now. It's not unreasonable to expect timely episodes, or timely content. Seriously, 12k. At least put up 2 let's plays a day or some other content.
You lose the excuse of "they're just fans doing fan things!" when they asked people for money.
"If you weren't so crazy I'd think you were insane."Well, they've made it pretty clear they can't speed up production on episodes. In one of the podcasts, Kaiser explained in a lot of detail on how, even if they could use the money towards DBZA, it wouldn't make them come out any faster. Most of the time spent is waiting for people to get in their lines and for Kaiser to edit. And he explained adding more editors would make it take more time, not less.
The Patreon was mostly for hiring new people. I'm pretty sure Kirran is one of them, and we've seen him pretty busy at work doing all the gaming videos.
The *Legendary* Super Saiyan is motivated by a crying infant! He is a literal giant f***ing baby! That's neat and all, but all that was happening before the patreon too. What people rightfully expect is just more content, even if not episodes.
Maybe put up a doodle on the site every day, or some other stupid thing. They don't even put up new let's plays on the weekends, when the whole point of the patreon was to give them more time and resources.
Or at the very least, instead of the "we're done when we're done" Shenron percentage thing they have on the site, put up an actual release timetable and stick to it.
"If you weren't so crazy I'd think you were insane."Again, they release more content than just about anyone else that does Abridging within the same timeframe. And not just actual episodes. The "lack" of episodes is a recent thing caused by health issues, and look at all the videos we've had despite that.
Yeah, I'm failing to see the point of an entitled prick that thinks he can insult people and demand more episodes from one of the most productive teams out there.
Plus... I'm not paying them at all, and I doubt everyone is. Yet this year, we've still gotten 2 episodes, 1 movie, and dozens of gameplay videos. Just before this year, we got 31 short videos. I'm satisfied. People have lives. In addition to this series, they're also doing whatever it is they do so that they can not be homeless and afford to do this. Making jokes for our amusement isn't the only thing they do.
On that note, Here's the first of two episode breakdowns this week.

No other abridged series asks for money though.
And just because that guy was a dick doesn't mean his point should be ignored.
Fact is they are taking donations to make this, so it should be held to some standard above "Hey, just accept it."
"If you weren't so crazy I'd think you were insane."The Patreon specifically says they can't use it on the abridged series. They have been very clear about that from the start.
"This Patreon campaign will not speed up the production of DBZA or HUA!"
How dare you try to pretend this has been about any sort of standard.

Really bad games can make really bad L Ps just as easily.
There's really no improving, say, Ride To Hell with commentary, because the game is just boring on top of everything else wrong with it. I'd rather listen to a podcast of the same guys.
I have a message from another time...
