Oh, just for the record, Gan pronounces "shin" (as in "Shin Kikouhou) incorrectly (as does damn near every English speaker when given that word). This
is the proper pronunciation (to make it super easy, it sounds exactly like the word "sheen").
Now someone will tell to kikou fuck myself because that is the only proper reply.

Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!'cept Mr. Satan is his stage name, not his last name. Unless you're saying he has two stage names.

Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!'cept Videl states that Gohan is odd for having a family name since he's the only person she knows who does.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!...It's been so long I can't remember what they said in the dub and how they handled that.
I mean, one obvious way to handle it is that the Satan family and the Briefs family are more European/"Western" so their family name comes last, while the Sons are more "Eastern" so their family name comes first.
There's a very definite "East" and "West" thing in early Dragon Ball. Like, when it started, we didn't know what the map of the world looked like, but we did know that Bulma came from the west, and had a lot of the hallmarks of western culture and technology, and Goku came from the east.
And, yes, he's an alien, but he was raised in a certain way. And aside from his tail, he passed as human for years. Comments about him not being human were treated as jokes, because the characters were still caught by surprise when the reveal came.
...And Chichi basically literally dresses like a Chinese princess stereotype whenever she can.

There is no Briefs family. It's just Dr. Briefs, Bulma, and her unnamed mother.
Their family name is only implied to be Briefs in the English dub of the anime because FUNimation decided to refer to Bulma's mom as Mrs. Briefs. In the manga and original Japanese version of the anime, she's just referred to as Bulma's mom.
Besides, if it was a family name then Videl is either lying, forgetful, or stupid since you'd probably be hard pressed to find someone who doesn't know of Bulma's family at least in name.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book! They don't. At least, when FUNimation redubbed for Kai, they just left him as Mr. Satan. Same for Battle of Gods.

"Krillin" isn't wrong at all and the pronunciation difference between it and "Kuririn" is fairly minuscule (provided you pronounce it properly).
I normally stick to the FUNimation dub for names but I once slipped and called the Supreme Kai "Kaioushin" and was like "Ah, fuck it." I also tried to called King Kai "Kaiou-sama" once but it felt weird. I'll probably switch to Tenshinhan and Chaozu, though, since I don't understand their English names.
