No, he was responding to me when I asked him what Platinum games he ranked as being better than Metal Gear Rising.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Wait.
Pointing out the futility of Ten's actions and the pointless nature of it means I'm just doing it because I don't like Ten? Lol, okay. I sure hope none of you complain about anything Vegeta does from now on.
I don't hate Ten. I'm indifferent to him, but as always, I hate the fandom of the non-Saiyans that would rather see the story break itself in half to support characters that already ended their development in the first half of the series.
"If you weren't so crazy I'd think you were insane."My problem with the argument against Tien's actions is this: Tien succeeded in what he set out to do. He set out to stall Cell so 18 could get away. She got away. If he hadn't, Vegeta and Trunks would've immediately fought Perfect and not Semi-perfect Cell. Vegeta wasted the gains made by Tien, but that doesn't invalidate them; saying that it does feels to me like saying that because somebody shooting a guy whose life was just saved by open-heart surgery invalidates the work of the surgeon.
Should've checked the list."Vegeta and Trunks would've immediately fought Perfect and not Semi-perfect Cell"
Yeah, and? The timing of Cell becoming perfect simply does not matter, either way they couldn't handle him and it was because Cell was interested in a challenge that he let them go. There's nothing about becoming perfect earlier that would change that.
The whole "Cell would destroy the planet/kill Goku on the lookout" is a complete fabrication. And it just doesn't make sense with what we've seen. The second is especially nonsensical because Cell has shown no knowledge of where the lookout is, and everyone there can kind their chi. Plus Goku can just teleport to Kaio's planet at any time.
But Cell wouldn't even try that. There's absolutely nothing to indicate he'd behave differently from what we've seen.
Ten did in fact accomplish what he set out to do. That's not worthy of praise because what he set out to do was insignificant to begin with.
People hadn't moved on though. They were currently talking about it at the same time, so that's completely false. They're still talking about it.

Not necessarily. Some people may be done with it and wouldn't bring it up on their own but can't help themselves if they see someone else bring it up.
I do wonder if the Cell Games would've happened had Cell gone perfect earlier. I wonder if he'd be as impressed or interested in Trunks's and Vegeta's rapid growth if his first encounter with them was him completely thrashing them instead of getting completely thrashed.
I have a message from another time...Cell was designed to become Perfect and kill Goku.
It took Vegeta and Trunks like an hour maybe to get out of the time chamber after Tien started attacking Cell.
If Vegeta and Trunks were already out of the Time Chamber, that'd be one thing. But they weren't.
Krillin wasn't even there yet. And he had a head start.
Without Tien to interrupt him, Cell would have become Perfect before Vegeta and Trunks could even touch the doorknob. Leaving him to default to his only other bit of programming. I mean, I seem to remember that Goku asked to eat before entering the time chamber.
If nothing else, he would have gone to Capsule Corp because it's the only other obvious place. Blow the place up because why not. Probably destroy the Dragon Radar. That'd have been bad.

...Okay, I dunno how much time passed.
I was probably going off episode length. Faulty memory. How long it felt like. All the times it cut away from Tien to other characters reacting.
Still. Tien fired at Cell, a lot of times, more times than in the abridged version even, then after he was done Goku teleported and grabbed him and Piccolo, then he got them senzu beans, then it was only after that point that Vegeta and Trunks left the time chamber.
And even after they did Cell still had a few minutes to yell at 18 for her to come out and threaten to blow up some islands.
Time passed between when Tien started and when Vegeta and Trunks were able to do anything. And not an insignificant amount of time either considering how fast Cell could move.

Tien starts firing at the end of chapter #373 and goes unconscious near the middle of #374. Goku goes down and gets him and Piccolo and tells Cell to wait a day before they have their fight. Then he teleports up and the door opens at the end of the chapter while Cell starts chasing 18 and 16.
Edit: Bulma can build a new one but it takes time.

I mean, in the Buu Saga it would have been bad according to Bulma. It was a plot point. It was the entire reason Goku went Super Saiyan 3.
And if Goku would have gone to New Namek and gotten Dende to fix the Dragon Balls they would have still needed to use the radar to find the damn things.
Maybe they would have gotten lucky and Android 16 had a Dragon Radar built-in. But then there's the issue of how he'd have had to work with Goku and that would have been awkward for everyone.
I was off by half an hour.
...It felt longer for some reason.
But then, this show does tend to.

Yep.
The balls were the same place they were after they turned to stone.
It doesn't seem like they can be summoned together unless a wish is made.
You can prevent them from scattering, but after they've already scattered they need to be gathered manually.
I mean, otherwise, going to all the trouble of having Goku fight Buu as a distraction while Trunks went to Capsule Corp. to get the radar would have been a pointless, tedious waste of Goku's remaining time on Earth.

I don't like Tien's fandom very much, but Tien's actual accomplishments here shouldn't be dismissed. He bought time. Like Nappa, his battle power is woefully unimpressive but he was able to accomplish incredible things with it regardless. He didn't even put a scratch on Cell, but he prevented Cell from achieving his Perfect Form, creating a window of opportunity for Vegeta and Trunks to kill him.
Vegeta wastes the opportunity Tien created, but that's on Vegeta. Tien's actions were ultimately fruitless, but that is through no fault of his own. He did far more than could ever be expected of someone with such a relatively worthless power. Really went above and beyond the call of duty here.
