If he didn't see it then it didn't happen! Of course!
I think the entire Saiyan species runs on that logic, really.
...I kind of want a call back to Episode of Bardock in the Buu Saga.
Maybe when they think Gohan died. Something along the lines of.
CHICHI: "And I never even got a chance to say goodbye to our son!"
GOKU: "We have one of those? Oh gamikai, we have two of those!"
Once Dende becomes God, I want to see people start using his name for exclamations.
- VIDEL: Oh, thank God.
- GOHAN: His name is Dende.
- VIDEL: What?
- GOHAN: Nothing.
Vegeta had a battle power of 18,000. Krillin and Gohan were at 981 and 1,770, respectively. It is entirely possible that they could both have poured every ounce of energy they could possibly muster into destroying Vegeta's power ball and come up entirely fruitless.
Goku might have had more of a chance, but not only did he have the big, angry Oozaru Vegeta on his ass the entire time, his body was trashed from pushing his Kaioken to x4. He was in no condition to try to bring down the power ball either.
And then when Vegeta's turn came around to be the one screwed by the power ball, he'd already tanked a ton of battle damage, the x4 Kamehameha, the loss of his tail, and the Spirit Bomb. He was already running on fumes as it was.
Destroying the power ball may be possible, but it just wasn't viable given the circumstances.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.I thought those were Krillin and Gohan's suppressed power levels, which was why Vegeta didn't want to trust those readings. I also base this on the part where Krillin killed three Raditz.
Then again, they did have the shit beaten out of them by this point. But then they had half a Senzu each. But then they had the shit beaten out of them again.
But Gohan would have gotten a Zenkai from having the shit beaten out of him.

Oh so you guys think you've figured out the powerball
thing huh? Well here's a wrinkle for you: In Tree of Might, Turles makes a powerball, then makes Gohan look at it so he transforms, then Turles destroys said powerball, and Gohan doesn't change back. Try to make sense of that!
Wait, so did Turles just shut his eyes so he wouldn't transform?
Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.

such brilliant science.
