The thing is, Dr. Gero is a scientist so he wouldn't be confused by what Gohan is saying. They would have likely gotten into a long conversation regarding the properties of whatever alloy the androids are made of while everyone else just looks on in shock, confusion, and/or exasperation.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book! That part was a reference to Goku asking Frieza, "Do you know what a minute is? Because I don't think you do."
The rest I made up.

Also, the robot Coolers in that movie Kaiser fucked if we count that and I don't so I'm not even sure why I brought it up?
There's also a question of how much energy was given by rocks, trees, the wind, and the sun.

Yes. That.
Seriously, why do people forget that inanimate objects, the atmosphere, and the sun contribute to the Spirit Bomb?
Goku sang a very helpful song about it in Lord Slug!
Also, Gohan is half-Saiyan, so the amount of food he needs to consume in order to get his body's natural restorative properties to work is frankly rather excessive.
You can't restore your body if you don't have anything to restore with. Yeah, oxygen, but the thing is that the body's metabolic cycle that uses oxygen also uses broken down sugars and other materials that we get from food.
Saiyans have to eat a lot of food.
One time Goku lost to Yamcha because he hadn't eaten anything.
For all that Saiyans are mighty warriors it would be really easy to starve them out in a siege as long as you didn't give them a chance to resupply.
Probably a major advantage for the Tuffles when that war happened.
Humans or god forbid Namekians would easily outlast Saiyans in siege conditions.
I mean, Majin Buu and his progeny in Online and Xenoverse eat a lot too, but it doesn't seem like they actually have to.
So basically every single species in the universe we know of could probably defeat the Saiyans simply by starving them out.

Speaking of infinite android power: how much energy could 18 put into an energy ball before throwing it, if given an arbitrary amount of time in which to do so?
I have a message from another time...

Infinite stamina!
