MMO, actually. Dragonball Online. Same as Mira and Towa, and pretty much everything from Xenoverse. So Heroes/Xenoverse might have Cell-X in at some point.
I think I speculated once recently that Cell could use kaioken, Saiyan zenkai, and Namekian regeneration to basically get infinitely stronger.
Kaioken puts a strain on the body. So what Cell has to do is ramp it up so much it almost kills him. Then let himself recover. Then do it again. And again. And again.
Assuming he can actually ramp-up the Kaioken far enough to actually harm his body enough. Perfect Cell didn't get a boost from the Final Flash or Warp Kamehameha blowing off his head, and once he went super he's even more durable. And that's not even considering the theory that his Super is like Super Saiyan and maybe decreases the effect or occurrence of the boosts.
Yeah. Unlike Buu - and despite what the English dub claims to the contrary - Cell can't merely regenerate From a Single Cell. He has a very specific piece of his body that he regenerates from, and if that piece is destroyed, he's toast. That his core nucleus was miraculously undamaged is the reason he was able to survive his self-destruct; there's no guarantee he could do that again.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub. It's a plothole, but the way I explain it is:
1) Cell's nucleus is strong enough to regenerate his entire body if it is the only thing left
2) Cell is still able to regenerate without it (and in the process regenerate the nucleus) but not nearly as well. That's why restoring half of his body was so taxing.
