I'm not sure if it's on purpose or not, but that's technically aimed at Saiga going by the arrows, not you.
I'm mostly indifferent to them. Yamcha lost his most interesting trait after the first arc, Ten and Chaozu never really had any, and none of them were good fighters.
I think Chaozu should have never reformed and just gone his separate ways. His psychic powers are a clear example of Antagonist Abilities, there are only so many ways they can be used, and he's a Satellite Character to Ten. He was fine in the 22nd Budokai but after that contributed nothing to the plot, character development, or battles. I'd also thought that maybe he and Ten could have just stayed dead after Namek and got some character resolution by staying with Kaio to train, since that's all they seem to do anyway.
.....
I really thought he was doing well in that fight.
I mean, compared to his fights with Roshi as Jackie Chun, and Kami as Shen?
The latter one had him getting head butted in the balls while doing a flying kick. You can't get more embarrassing than that.
One Strip! One Strip!Tien got his character resolution when he surpassed Tao Pai Pai in the 23rd Budokai. That, in and of itself, is the problem with Tien: his story ended and he had nowhere to go and nothing to do, so he just sort of lingered as part of the group with no real aim or motive. He had a pretty cool redemption plot, but wound up overstaying the story's need of him as a character.
Yamcha's uselessness is more glaring because he peaked in the Pilaf arc. He spent even more time than Tien wandering aimlessly around the set trying to figure out why the director still needs him.
Having nothing personal to accomplish but just being an able body to lend a hand works out for characters in nakama anime, I suppose, but Dragon Ball was never really one of those. It's the story of Goku and whoever happens to be able to contribute to Goku's journey at a given moment.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.I mean, on paper it was the most impressive of his three tournament fights, but the Tien fight quickly went south when Tien revealed he was trolling him the entire time and proceeded to Curbstomp him.
Toriyama has an unhealthy obsession with I Am Not Left-Handed.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Looking at that trope it seems unneccessary to me that Bleach has it's own folder.
Edit: Yep, looking over the examples in that folder, I'd say a fair number of them don't actually qualify as the trope. Uryu vs. Mayuri or Yamamoto resorting to hand-to-hand combat stick out to me.

Episode 46 is up.
Pretty funny episode. Whoever it was called how it would end in the past few weeks was perfectly right. Kudos to you.

Baseball did it.
